In February of 2012 I went on Pilgrimage to the Baha'i World Center in Haifa, Israel. These are pictures from my 9 day stay in the Holy Land.
Our Film Festival (我们电影节)

Yesterday was the first night of a two-night film festival here in Xi'an. My wife and her friend Xiao Ma, who teaches design at a local university and is also a budding film maker who recently showed her two animation shorts at the Beijing Independent Film Festival, decided to start up a film festival here in Xi'an.

They call it the "Our Film Festival" (我们电影节) and during the first night around 17 young film makers showed their work, mostly focused on animation shorts. There were some very creative works shown.

Tonight is the second night of the film festival which is more live-action shorts and stories. Not as many films, but they are longer too, so the time will be about the same.

The venue is a small coffee shop located near the Xi'an International Language University and the Shaanxi Normal University old campuses.

I am a freelance web and graphic designer, part-time photographer, wannabe (voice) actor, and aspiring author, currently residing in Xian, China.

Over the past 11 years I've worked for such clients as Disney Channel, Artisan Entertainment, RKO Pictures, Warner Brothers, Edko Films, Rotten Tomatoes and many others. I was the webmaster and designer for Jet Li's official website (www.jetli.com) for 10 years and was an original member of the alivenotdead.com website team.

Besides my work as a designer, I also have a strong passion for performance arts. I was a member of the band, MahJong, based out of Seattle (vocals, guitar, bass), sang in a variety of choral and vocal jazz groups, and played classical and blues piano for over 10 years. I also have experience with stage performance/acting and public speaking.

Among my creative interests are drawing/art, photography, writing, cooking, video editing/film-making, dance, languages and travel.

I also have been studying and training in Chinese Wushu (martial arts) for around 15 years and have been teaching off and on, both privately and in group classes, for almost 12 years. I was the 2000 Western Regional Wushu Champion and the 2000 U.S. National Silver Medalist for Nan Quan (southern fist). I am currently training with the Shaanxi Wushu Team in Xi'an, China.
