a wall, some black paint, and a whole lot of awesomeness…

In the half decade that I’ve been slaving away inHong Kongthus far, I've worked with and befriended many of my childhood heroes.  By the nature of my work, they consist mostly of martial arts actors and choreographers; however, through the splendor of this online community (dubbed http://www.alivenotdead.com) I have gotten the wonderful opportunity to befriend talented people of many different disciplines.  One of whom is someone that I’ve admired since high-school and college.  His name is  Pat Lee (best known as the legendary comic book artiste who brought the G1 Transformers back to life).

I remember being introduced to him for the first time a good while ago by another Patrick Lee (the big boss).  Being shameless, I immediately took out a small portion of my comic book collection and requested that he raise their value by marking his name on their covers.  So you can easily imagine my excitement at the most recent AlivenotDead.com/Diesel event.  It’s been a while since I’ve been to a real-time painting exhibition, and never would I have imagined that I’d be standing so close to a modern day comic book legend as he painted some of my favorite characters on the side of wall in the middle ofHong Kong.  Below are a few pictorial highlights of that fine evening.

A big thank you toRozyandRaffifor taking these pictures for me as the person who played the character of Tank Wong in a movie called Star Runner dropped my camera onto the hardwood floor of my home a couple of weeks ago...

“I want a bat symbol on my chest too!”

“I’m pretty sure I know this guy…didn't he come to Hong Kong a few months ago?”

I had to take Patrick Lee out with a swift right to the jaw for impersonating Pat Lee.

I was lucky enough to get my photo taken with my favorite super-heroine duo.  I’m pretty sure they can fly, but they chose to arrive in a car.
