Some friends attended a Halloween party tonight but I didn't join them. I had a small event to shoot during part of the evening, and I just came straight home afterwards to work on the photos. It's all good, I didn't have a costume anyways...

But I'll tell you guys about my most memorable Halloween...
It was Halloween 2004 in NYC.

Me and five other girl friends all dressed up in matching loud, pink outfits and strolled the streets of East Village just as the big parade ended. People kept doing double-takes and asking us what we were dressed up as. We probably looked like some bubblegum girl-band.

As you can imagine, we got lots of attention that night (some was not-so-good, most was fun and harmless). It was just fun dressing up identically and making heads turn. Six girls dressed alike in hot pink certainly makes an impact! (We passed a group of young school girls in candy outfits, and even they got excited seeing us.) We even went up to some of NY's bravest (fire fighters) and finest (police  officers) and took pictures with them.... Why not? It's not everyday that they'd wanna take a picture with you. Then we went to some bar and saw some Wizard of Oz Dorothy's dancing on top of the bar counter. Haha!

Not only that, but the night before was a Saturday, so we had all gotten dressed up in our costumes and went club-hopping at 3 different clubs without paying or waiting! (That's usually unheard of in NYC unless you've got hookups.)

What a fun, crazy Halloween weekend... ah, the memories... :)

Are people dressing up for Halloween or celebrating at all? What's your costume?

it sure does make a big impact if you've got a group doing the same thing. i wanted to be one of the harajuku girls for this halloween if i was able to get someone to be gwen and 3 other girls to be the other harajuku girls. unfortunately, ppl just wanted to do other things.

Nope, there wasn't a story behind the pink costumes. Other than my friends calling me up and basically saying "Okay, we're all wearing the same thing... short denim skirt, knee high boots, and we bought everyone pink tops and pink wigs! Alright?" So I said, "Ok!"

We didn't quite know what we were supposed to be too, we just knew we wanted to match, look cute, and stand out! Haha!

Nah, I did not dress up this year.  Surprisingly, nobody in my office did, either.  We are a small group of 20 or so employees.  Hmmm, I like firefighters and I think those pink wigs are cool!

Very, very, very eye-catching!!! You've given "look for me in the pink" a whole new meaning. :)

Oh wow, certainly looks and sounds like one wild night out. At least if there was a blackout the pink wigs could light the way. Looked a lot of fun.

Halloween seems to dwindle every year in England, less and less people go out, most this year seemed to go to the opening of Saw 4 in Southport Cinema.

Funny thing is that I don't think that outfit is all that out-of-the-ordinary for East Village in my experience ... 'cept usually it's guys wearing it...

Love the story and the outfits.  You girls probably made those cops' night.  The pink wigs are awesome!  Yay pink!  I used to love going to watch the Halloween parade in the Village but I haven't been in a few years.  I just watch it on NY1 now.  The weather here is still unseasonably warm.  It was in the 60's today.

This is a great pic and a cool peek into your past NYC self! What a fun idea, to have that many pink wigs up at the same time! I don't have a costume but I found this goblin type mask which I bought in New Orleans once which is made of really nice leather. Found it in my mom's room and haven't seen it in like 10 years.

I'm not going anywhere or doing anything.....but I've been joking that I already have most of the outfit (i.e., my birthday suit) for Lady Godiva...just need a long-haired blond wig and a beautiful white Arabian stallion!!!

I think the pink statement rocks!
