Spent the day with Master Yang.......as Master Zhao had to teach the Russian Delegation....they wanted to work on 64 palms......an important form in Bagua as it teaches a series of applications and responses........once you master you have techniques to deal with any situation. Often my students mistakenly think that this form is not important because it is straight line........but Bagua is about application so this form is of utmost importance.....also while it may seem straight line...if done correctly the form is in fact a straight line insid...Read more

Walked into breakfast at Shichahai........and ran into Coach Yu from Hong Kong...it was great to see him. We talked about the future of Wushu.....and the way things are going their is going to be a push to develop another road into the Olympics....and that's to promote Traditional Wushu.....Collin and Gao Song were not here because they were in Macau competing at a Tradional Wushu Tournament. This is sort of what I thought.......with the failure to enter the Olympics there has to be new direction for Wushu........even the Shaolin Monks in t...Read more
Spent a day with Grandmaster Zhao and Master Yang...to get me ready for the upoming disciple ceremony.........the event will include 80 of the most prominent Masters in the Wushu World........Grandmaster Zhao has selected me to be part of the next generation of Bagua Masters...........which is quite an honor. My students have often asked what's the difference between being the disciple and the student. Well, first thing I learned was that there are many students but only a few disciples........disciples are taught the principles ...Read more

This year was kind of cool for me...as my birthday was during the MidAutumn festival...always considered auspicious by the Chinese. Jason was in charge of the planning for my surprise........he of course knows I like good food!! So he surprised me this year with Korean Food. He picked Han Il Kwan on Balboa and 18th Ave. I had always wondered if it was any good as I drive by it all the time....and I see lots of Korean Tour groups eating there.
The Dragon Boat Races is a pretty cool event bringing teams out from all over the Bay Area to compete. As part of the event there are lots of Cultural Performances. Last time I posted some pictures of the SF Wushu Team's performance....also performing after us was Yau Gung Moon. It is always good to see that some one is still carrying on the torch for traditional wushu...otherwise these styles will die out. Yau Gung Moon is led by Sifu Lai lok Sang, their style is known as Southern Dragon.....it's postures are reminiscent ...Read more
