    AnD Folks,

I just found out through one of my friends that a dear friend of mine just passed away - one of the most incredible comic artists I've ever known - Michael Turner, who has been facing Cancer since 2000.

His work has inspired us all as artists and has always been wonderful to everyone, to his fans, family and friends. I am still in shock from finding this out - does break my heart that this has happened. He was strong in fighting his Cancer, you will be missed dear friend...

Here is an article on him:

Oh Pat...I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I lost a good friend to cancer last year as well, but I know now that even though he was only my age, God used his life and the lives of others to teach us very important things in our lives. Hopefully you will find out what it is God is teaching you and the sadness will go away soon enough =). My condolences go out to you.

Oh man.  I always hoped he'd overcome it, even though the chances were slim.  Anyone who met or got to know him would know how sad it is for him to be gone.  He was such a talented and kind person.

Do you know what's going to happen to Aspen now?

So sorry to hear that Pat....Witchblade was one of my bro's favourite comics.....you have my best condolences.......

You know, with the rates of which people are dying from it, I am beginning to suspect that cancer could well be formed not just from our exposure to electromagnetic radiation like from mobile phones, but maybe even from the very things we eat, and possibly even sunshine - yet sadly this is rarely talked about. I am beginning to suspect cancer could be caused by not just irradiated food but food with lots of artificial preservatives ie. junk food; those sprayed with pesticides (which can then be readily absorbed into the bloodstream), and maybe even strong sunshine itself contains a lot of gamma radiation, which I think is extremely damaging to living cells and tissue. Otherwise why do you think our skin goes red that quickly under strong sunlight? We don't know...but sometimes I think it could even be the root cause of aging? Who knows? But I do reckon sunlight is extremely harmful...that's why I don't like to stay in the sun for too long....

Seriously, the biggest tribute to him and all the others we've lost is to fight cancer.  Most of us can only do that by fundraising to finance research, research, research.  Cancer is just such a superior foe.

Whenever you are drawing Patrick, and you want to imbue a character with pure evil, think CANCER.

Eternity belongs to Michael Turner now.

I am right there with you--I lost 4 people to cancer in the last year, the last only 2 weeks ago, and my father 6 months ago.  There really isn't anything to say, except they will be missed.  The more they were loved, the more they are missed.  For us, we can focus on how lucky we were to have known these people who made a difference in our lives.
