Thanks for the update on Red Cliff. Bigger isn't always better in movies, and in other things, as well (those pool noodles look a little bit scary). I wonder what the 2 3/4 hour version will be like in the West? I feel like I need to read the novel first so I'll be able to figure out what's going on and who all these people are. I hope the costuming is distinctive enough to help me keep track of the various actors (and, especially the supporting actors). The big-name stars I already know, it is just the cast of secondary characters and the plot that has me a bit worried as a Westerner. We most certainly don't study this period of Chinese history in school!
