I couldn't have summed this up better myself. Check the video below for a nice little internet rant.

I saw the BEP track accidentally on MTV at the Marriot and quite frankly this pile of shit was worse than the latest auto-tuned effort from Madonna which preceded it... right after BEP finished there was some other crap featuring P.Diddy and/or Kayne West and/or Obama or whoever the hell it was deemed necessary by the label to appear on some otherwise anonymous track in order to sell ring-tones... I was still in shock from the BEP atrocity I couldn't even remember who was in the following video.

Equally bad was some electrofied UK cross dressing bint called La Roux who was trying really REALLY hard to be the day-glo comic version of Nick Kershaw. Awful. Seriously – and I can't stand Lady Gaga's music – but Lady Gaga was the best produced track during the 15 minutes I had MTV switched on. And I switched it off halfway through her current video. No wonder she's popular. There is no competition.

Usually by the time they play this song I'm too drunk to notice, but now that I clearly hear the lyrics in full sobriety, you're right... it's a completely shit song!  Still.... for some reason... the beat.... it gives me this impulse.... to rub my body up against less sober women with loose morals.  Strange.

i just realized why i thought this song wasn't so bad. .... for some reason it reminds me of the daft punk song "one more time".  not even sure why that is....

Doesn't beat this... For a friends birthday a bunch of us went out for dinner and drinks.  After dinner we went to some bar that was meant to have a live African band.  We sat down ordered drinks and then started to realize something.  Everyone around us looked really young... too young!  Unfortunately the venue was booked for some sweet 16 and there were teenagers everywhere.  They were drinking a little and accompanied by some parents.  So we all say
'Let's get the frak out of here after our drinks!'
All of a sudden... The Black Eyed Peas starts playing in the background.  'Oh God!  It's this fucking crap excuse for a song!' ... All of a sudden a bunch of high pitch screams and a crowd surrounds the dance floor and all the kids start singing it.  Oh wait no... singing would be wrong word... screaming the damn lyrics at the top of their lungs together.... Ohh nonono... not just girls... Boys too!???

    that was actually quite funny.

i have noticed some bad lyrics a lot more lately...  people rhyming words with the same words, etc.   weak sauce! :-P

VJ - it's just BEP & music producers reacting to how society likes things to be packaged ... why bother writing 3 minutes of clever lyrics when they will only (want to) remember the chorus, or the hook? Also, you can make more money selling ringtones than you can selling entire tracks.

Its only pop music and demonstrates, in spades, why I haven't bothered with pop music since, oh say, 1985 when Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" was the last time I cared about a pop song (in English). :-)  There were some rock critic types going on and on and on about the reissue of Big Star's first two albums on NPR this afternoon.  They put forward September Girl as one of the best pop songs, ever.  You know how many lines the entire 3 1/2 minute song has--12--and they are pretty dumb.  Just call the BEP pop now and I think they can squeeze in under the limbo bar that passes for mass media acceptability.

There's bad pop music, then there is BAAAAAD pop music. This is worse than both of the aforementioned.
