  • 19th Birthday

    Friday, May 30, 2008 1:37PM / Members only

Well another year has gone by so quickly it's shocking!  On Wednesday night I had a little gathering with some close friends and we went for dinner and drinks. The year before was just nuts... so this year I decided to calm it down and prepare for the big 30 next year.... Oh no, I mean my 10th Anniversary of my 20th Bday (As Glenn would say!)  We went for hotpot (sorry Dax and Jto) and this time we set a new record! 8 large plates of beef!!!!  Sorry... no pictures were taken of food as we were all just too involved with the eating ceremony.
After that... My lovely woman brought a yummy Birthday Mango cheese cake... Mmmmm I love the mango!!! Love it! Thx Baby!!!... to top that off the restaurant gave free desserts (coconut-sago and some big freakin buns!) I manage to eat cake and coco-sago but I had no more room for buns!!!

Yes, that's right... I was wearing an Audiotraffic T shirt on my bday!

Yes... It says... HAPPY BDAY MK GUITAR HERO

Ok so you can imagine how stuffed we were.  I think Adrian started to get the 'meat sweats'... We all rolled out of the restaurant and some people had to go as they had work the next morning... We decided to go to a nice quite bar on Minden St. TST. for a nice comfortable drink.   Straight after that drink it was torture time!!! Off we went to our old skool bar 'Bahama Mammas'.... We saw our old friend who manages the bar and he handed us rounds of shooters and a lovely 151 shot for me!!! Wooohoooo.... I was dreading it the whole night!!! Well... You just gotta on your bday!.... Bastards!!! And so we carried on chatting and drinking more shooters (Horray!! *starts crying*)  And so... you can imagine the rest of the night!  Birthdays,,, you just cant escape your good friends wanting to see you having a good time!

    Thx guys and gals!

Esp Kev who managed to drag his jet lagged ass out for a bit!

Even though he doesn't look that jet lagged here... The poor bastard was extremely
    knackered!

    Peace,

If you're wondering what to get me for my Birthday... you could donate money to help the disasters in Sichuan and Maynmar.... Thx!
  • My super cool parents!

    Tuesday, Mar 11, 2008 2:37PM / Members only

Here is a pic of my mum and dad straight after the performance at the CD launch!  Everyone says my parents look so young!!! Hahahaa! But you'll never guess their REAL age!  I am very fortunate to have such awesome parents who have supported me with my music.  They never pushed me to become a doc, engineer etc or whatever rakes in steady $$$$$.  They have always wanted me to  do something that me makes me happy.  I love them with all my heart!  They too are my inspiration!

OK before you ask... My mum is Malaysian born British-Chinese and my dad is Filipino (though he sometimes likes to say he's part Italian! hahahah!) I too was born in Malaysia and moved to HK when I was one.... So that makes me???? Yup! You got it! A Heinz 57! A mixed can of beans!

Oooooo one more person I'd like to promote... My mum's good friend! My hairstylist! Her name is Mayda.  She works at Hair Corner in Central, 1/F Duke Wellington House, opposite California fitness.  She is very friendly and most importantly supports Audiotraffic!

Oh totally just remembered *smacks himself on the forehead*  Check out...

    http://yellowfrog.net

Out producer Rob Porter's company!  You can rent equipment, hire them to build you a studio, improve sound where ever! He's your man! Most importantly hire him to be a part of your next record or video!

Without this man, there would be no ----->

    Peace out,

    Don

  • This show is gonna rock big time!!!

    Wednesday, Feb 20, 2008 12:14PM / Members only

As the AT boys are part of Josie's band (AKA Josie and The Uni's), we would like to hype up her up and her coming concert on the 2nd of March.

Everyone should get their asses down there coz this show is gonna rock big time!!! We have a strong set list of Josie songs (incl. new ones) and a load of others to please all kinds of music lovers including some awesome surprise covers which are always a lot of fun to perform live on the big stage.  We also have great visuals to go with the live show.  This is rarely done in HK band shows and I hope this concert can inspire video/ visual creators out there in Hong Kong to create something for band shows in HK.  It will surely take the show to another level!!!

Ooooooooo... and we have a bigger band for this concert too!!! Skot Suyama is flying back just for this concert to play bass and do some loops/programming, Crazyman 'Bunbun' on the keys, 2 hot n sexy backing singers Pam and Angelita, Kev, Adrian and myself form the rest.

Sorry for those of you expecting Kookie to be on stage with us wearing his wife's 'Flashdance' clothes.  I assure you, you'll see him in that outfit once again at another Josie concert.

Also... We got a nice set of guests performing with us.. We got 24Herbs, Paul Wong, Sam Lee, Hardpack and possibly more surprise guests...

So to all reading this... I hope to see you all there with your devil horns up in the air rocking to the sound of ... JOSIE HO'S 'GLAM TRASH LIVE'

  • Albums - Looking Back

    Monday, Jan 7, 2008 2:27PM / Members only

Ok its been a while since I've blogged about random stuff again... so here we go!

Just been browsing my itunes and thought I'd share my fav albums that have changed my life!!!
These Albums I could easily listen to from start to finish lying down by the beach and just chilaxing!!! Mannn... I need a holiday! Anyway!!!
    Ok in no particular order...

Lets start with  one of my ultimate favourite bands of the 90's

Yeeeeeeeeah!!! AIC was one of the most original bands of the "Seattle/Grunge" era... The guitarist Jerry Cantrell was a god! His licks and song writing skills taught me the importance  of melody in songs... This album  rocked my socks off!!! RIP Layne Staley!!!

This album inspired me to pick up the guitar in the first place... Just this anger and angst coming out of the music... ESP the hidden track (@ 14:09) ... I remember people thinking it was some sort of ode to Satan.... wahahahahaha... RIP Kurt!

Ohh man this album brings back so many memories... Pure Class!!! Fav song is 'Black'... It was the beginning of the Pearl Jam reign in the 90's!

Wooooo I love how many songs are on this album... Not as many as Stadium but this album is Funk to the Max from beginning to the end... Another Guitar hero here for me... another melody man with an awesome touch to his guitar... Thank God they got John back... wasn't a big Navarro fan when he was in Chilli but I do love him in Jane's Addiction!

Ok now... to.. the British invasion.. starting with..... no other than...

One of the greatest of all greats of the greats... I love this album... mainly coz its a guitar based album and probably the best guitar album... and YES!!! OK COMPUTER is just a s good too... but man Johnny Greenwood was also crowned my hero after this album... Every Damn song is amazing on this album!!! This is a good guitar lesson album... loads of acoustic songs and  crazy electric guitar riffs

Ok why all 3?? OK first of all i never discovered this band.. truth is... my mother did.. she was watching tv and channel surfing and she saw this band on tv and she told me that I'd like them... I was like yeahyeahyeah mum.. what did she know... but funnily enough I was bored enough the next day at HMV and dug through the singles section and bumped into this CD (EP2) and took it to the counter for a quick listen.. a low and behold.. it blew my mind away...So yeah... Mother knows best...hahahha... immediately i shared this with Adrian.. and since then we became huge fans!!!! Then everyone else found out about them when the first album finally came out (Attack of the Grey Lantern)... These guys had such a unique sound.. you either loved it or hated it... Well then the second album came out (Six) and they came to HK... Adrian and I were in 'Cry' back then.. and we got to open for them... wow dream come true!! and meet them... niiiice niiice guys!

This album is the Second from Longpigs... but this is one of those albums you just have to listen form beginning to end... It becomes a very personal album... I became a big fan of the singer of Crispin Hunt... great voice... again,, unique... This album makes me smile and cry... personalpersonalpersonal.... beautiful songs!

This album was the album before they came out with 'Bittersweet Symphony'... This album was way underated... this album has so such a vibe.... i cant find the words to explain it... If your verve fan and dont have this album.. I'll slap you!

OLD classic suede was unforgettable... this album was the last from another guitar god of mine.. Bernard Butler... This album is reeeeeeeealll EMO for me... hahahahaha god i hate that word! Almost as band as ALTERNATIVE!!

Did you guys see them here in HK... these guys had something going on... but alas... the split up... First time i heard this guys voice I thought... wow its Liam Gallagher gone right! (sorry not a big Oasis fan).. great sounds.. if you think I have a lot of toys on stage.. you should see these guys!!! It's like 3 Johnny Greenwoods!!!!

This is the Best Muse Album in my books... I wasn't a big fan of them when they first started.. but one of my good friends kept pushing it on me and I gave in with this album came out!!!! It just tickled me!!!! great songs... the album after 'Absolution' was pretty good too... but i still go back to this one!!!

OK so there it is.. I'm pretty sure I"ve forgotten some.. I just cant find them sorry... But I guess you can see my 5 guitar heroes here....

    Johnny Greenwood - Radiohead
Bernard Butler - Suede/ The Tears/ His own stuff...
Jerry Cantrell - Alice in Chains
    John Frusciante - Chilli Peppers
Matt Bellamy - MUSE <--- this dude has the best custom made guitars incl. one with Kaos pad!!!

    http://www.mansonguitars.co.uk/Muse%20gallery/index.htm <--- Makes me cry!!!!

ROCK ON EVERYONE!!!! MAKE SURE YOU ALL COME TO WILD DAY OUT... (12th Jan)

Don, glad to meet another MGS fan :-) To be honest with you, I wasn't a fan of Metal Gear since PS2 because tactical game required too much concentration plus I got the PS3 mostly for the Blu Ray player. That said, MGS 4 totally change everything. That game itself worth buying the PS3 console. Its amazing and 1000 times better than the older one. FYI, I might get shoot for this but sport games on the PS3 are way better than the rest out there :-) Have a great week.
