Here's a story that really speaks to everyone of us. And it really encouraged me greatly, so I hope this does the same for you. Im sure you baseball fans too will like it. I grew to like watching baseball alot after being in the US and TW. And as time grew by, I really started to be enchanted by the game.
George Herman, "Babe" Ruth is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He hit 714 home runs and for almost four decades he held the major league lifetime homerun record. He was such a legend that the Yankee Stadium today is still known as "the house that Ruth built". His other nicknames were "The Bambino", " The Sultan of Swat" and "The Babe".(Yes he was formerly a Red Sox guy, but got sold to the Yankees, so hurray both Red Sox and Yankees.)
But one thing most people didn't know is that Babe Ruth also held the record for being struck out. Did you know that he got struck out 1330 times more than any other player in his era? This means that he held the lifetime record from being struck out before he held the record for the homeruns. We all admire people of greatness, these athletes and their achievements but they too had their struggles, failures and "strike outs". At any one point, due to distress, embarrassment and bad morale Babe could have just stopped. But what is this strength that keeps people going, keeps champions going and fighters fighting?
It's the positivity that lies in a person to continue. There are times when I feel weary and just want to crumble and am almost too tired to motivate myself again. But those negative thoughts have a way of stretching their tentacles just like positive thoughts can bless other people when you share them. :) Hopefully you'll feel just as uplifted as I did after I'd read this story.
Be inspired and inspire.
