Wow... it's been about 2 weeks since my last post as I have been ridiculously busy with AskBenny.Cn since we launched the site! But I have been checking now and then and seeing all your comments and posts!
Anyway, here's my 2 weeks RECAP to keep you up to speed with what's been going down!
TUESDAY 31st of JULY
Had about 7 interviews as we are currently looking for a Sales Excutive and a local Jounior Video Editor... As much as I like meeting new people, when it comes to interviewing, you definitely need to be patient and calm... the thing is, I like to know every new person joining our team so I make it a personal goal to interview and meet every new prospect!
That night I had a networking event at the hotel bar called 789 @ the Le Royal Merridien Hotel... met some cool people but basically just enjoyed the view of Shanghai while sipping some 35 RMB Long Islands!
WEDNESDAY 1st of AUGUST
Was invited to watch a Musical Theatre Workshop which I had connected between my good friend Lian who owns Jazz du Funk ( www.jazzdufunk.com) and my other good friend, Michael from Broadway Asia. They did a Free Musical Theatre Workshop which went exceptionally well! Is always good to see the steady influx and interest in Musical Theatre!
Had about 4 other interviews that day!
THURSDAY 2nd of AUGUST
3 Interviews that day then met with a Music Producer in this cool cafe which I never knew existed right around the corner of my house! Strangest thing is, is that the owner is a Shanghainese Australian! Charming and out going guy, he lived in Sydney for 30 years! What a small world indeed!
FRIDAY 3rd of AUGUST
2 more interviews! I guess the highlight of the day was my bro from Hong Kong, Orlando arrived that night! ( www.rhythmfit.com)
That night I then went to the opening of M2 (was formally Wynn Wynn's in Plaza 66 on Nan Jing Xi Lu) it's now converted to MUSE 2... Funny as I was at the Wynn Wynn's openning not more than 8 months ago... shows you how fast Clubs come and go here in Shanghai!
SATURDAY 4th of AUGUST
Had a meeting with my Laywers in the Shangri La, Pudong ... nice little meal, then went for a coffee around the area! Had to go through some important details for a potential investment into our company... exciting but sometimes mind boggling! Nonetheless... well worth the trip out to Pudong!
After my meeting, I then got the call from Orlando to meet him and his Brother, Alex To for dinner... so we caught up and later that night we partied on!
Went to M2 again and also met Carina Lau... great night out!
Orlando and I escaped M2 for ahwile and checked out the Salsa scene at Silvermoon! Yes...I'm trying to practice my Salsa moves! You never really know the wonders that a shot of Tequila can do for the Salsa moves!
We then went back to M2, partied some more, then got really hungry and headed for City Diner on Tong Ren Lu! At 3:30am, I ordered a double City Diner Burger with Egg! There goes my diet!
SUNDAY 5th of AUGUST
Woke up at about 2:00pm..... nice.......
Met up with Brother Orlando and Alex at my favourite Cafe in Tai Kang Lu! I think the owners and bar staff were so excited, the almost forgot to serve us at the site of Alex sitting in their cafe! Anyway, it absolutely RAINED CATS & DOGS so were stuck in the cafe for about 4 hours... not bad as we were treated V.VIP!
Anyway, after that, I was invited to join them for a family dinner!
After that, we decided to all get a Foot Massage.... exactly what the doctor ordered! Was a perfectly chilled Sunday!
MONDAY 6th of AUGUST
Had a great meeting with our Accountants at a new Restaurant in 138 Huai Hai Lu called Nan Yang! It's probably Shangai's Number One MALAYSIAN RESTAURANT! I have to say, the food was EXQUISITE! Absoluetely scrum-diliumptious!
Another meeting with one of our online collaborators and that was that day done!
TUESDAY 7th of AUGUST
Had a meeting with the Marketing Manager of Shanghai Expat - Ocean! Awesome person and great at what she does! Anyway, we are hoping to find some way of collaborating....

WEDNESDAY 8th of AUGUST
BENNY'S (of my company www.AskBenny.Cn) BIRTHDAY today!!! He turned 26! We bought a cake... here's the video we made:

That night we then went to Shanghai Expat's Wednesday night events at Malone's on Tong Ren Lu! After, I went to Velvet Lounge and was then invited to the opening of their new section called "The Terrace" with free flow Champaigne.... Once couldn't say no!
THURSDAY 9th of AUGUST
Slight hangover....
Filmed one of our Micro-Classes.
FRIDAY 10th of AUGUST
6 interviews for our Video Editor... none of which could speak English so I was pushed to use my limited Mandarin... was good practice though!
That night went to a fairwell of a good friend here in Shanghai... was asked to sing, so sang my little self-composed number on the piano... ( http://www.myspace.com/RobertVicencio - select the title "My Song")
We then went to a Karaoke and left at about 4:30am! I was hungry once again, so Fred and I went to good old Bi Feng Tang on Chang le lu and ordered my other favourite, Roast Duck on Rice! There's goes the diet once again!
SATURDAY 11th of AUGUST
Slept. Ate. Slept. Watched a gig at 4LIVE. Slept.
SUNDAY 12th of AUGUST
Slept in. Woke up at about 11:45am... ate, worked, worked and worked some more!!! Washed some clothes, watched a little TV and now here finishing my blog for you all!!!
