• The Time Traveler's Wife Aftermath

  Just got home from watching The Time Traveler's Wife.

  Starring on eof my favourite actress Rachel Adams. She's amazing!

  Saw lotsa girls with puffy eyes exiting the cinema while I was entering.

  Therefore I expected to weep through the movie.

  In fact, I am half way through finishing the novel.

  Been looking forward to it much and I am now satisfied having watched it.

  Surprisingly, I didn't shed a tear though it was heart wrenching at times.

  
  

  After the movie, I came back to my apartment and while waiting for the elevator,

  the lady security said to me '' This will be the last second day I'm gonna see you''

  
  

  I turned to her asked '' You leaving? "

  
  

  This is the beginning of  our 30 min long conversation. She told me about her ill fated life. I asked if she has any children cuz I wonder why she's still working at her age and why isn't anyone taking care of her. She shook her head... eyes welled up.. and told me she has five daughters. But none cares about her apart from her two youngest twins who are already 17 whom she gets to see once in a while. She says she tries her very best to explain to them the importance of education, hoping that they'll cherish their chance to have a better life than she has but they wouldn't listen. They wouldn't care about education. 

  This lady was born in a poor family, she started working at eight, and like every other girl, she sought for marrying into a better life at 18. Obviously, that didn't work out. instead, she was physically abused by her mother-in-law as well as her husband. Taking the kids into consideration, she could've bare to put them through a divorce. In a blink of a tearing eye, over thirty years have passed. Now, she's nearing sixty, divorced, with no money, no family to love her, parents dead many many years ago.....  

  
  

  I couldn't say much to make her feel better. I just wished I'm Henry from The Time Traveler's Wife and give her a lottery ticket and at least that will pull her out of her money problem. 

  Since I couldn't do that , I gave her my time to listen to her. Gave her a packet of my favorite tissue paper to wipe her tears. Gave her my number to call me when she feels lonely in future and at the end of it, I gave her a hug.

  
  

  My eyes were teary... so this night is meant for a night to weep after all. 

  It was simply for a different reason. 

  
  

  I took the elevator up to my flat. Saw a young boy, around 23 years old cleaning out the garbage. I wonder, if he's gonna do something about his life or is he gonna do the same thing he does everything evening twenty years from this very night. 

  
  

  At many times, I think that when we were still in school, the teachers, the parents, everyone else, they kept telling us to study, they kept forcing us to study and we used to think it was just for the results, or simply just to please our parents. These days, kids don't give a damn about pleasing their parents, they're not scared of their parents like how we were. Therefore, they don't care about studying. 

  What most of us didn't know that playing truant, not doing our homework, failing at tests, at exams, giving up school is gonna cost us our entire lives. We didn't know the seriousness of it till maybe when you're 50 and lonely, then, it's too late. Way too late.... so sad...

  I'm delighted to grace the cover of All About Wedding this month. As many of you have heard, Rozy's going to walk down the aisle in a couple of months. This must be extremely surprising for many of you. I've received tons of phone calls, all of which congratulating Rozy in a state of shock. haha....

  
  

  What have I been busy with..? I am all occupied with the preparations for the wedding. We kinda had no clue to go about organizing hence these wedding magazines certainly came in handy ! 

  
  

  I think almost every girl has had a dream of meeting your Prince Charming and falling into a deep deep love hole. Where you love another person so selflessly you see nothing but him in your eyes, in your world...

  Rozy has finally found hers. I'm so happy for her.

  May you find your dream lover too...

  For those who haven't found theirs, don't give up, it might just strike you one day. You never know when. Just like lightning !!

  I HAD THE MOST AMAZING BIRTHDAY WEEK EVER !

  BCUZ I HAD A SPECIAL FRIEND IN TOWN, WE WENT TO ALL SINGAPORE

  HOTSPOTS TOGETHER WITH MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

  
  

  MY FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE CAME AS A SURPRISE AS I THOUGHT IT

  WAS JUST A GATHERING WITH MY OLD PALS...

  UNTIL.....THEY WHOPPED OUT A CHOCOLATE CAKE FOR ME..

  SO SURPRISED IT TOOK A WHILE FOR ME TO THINK OF A 

  BIRTHDAY WISH 

  THANKS GIRLS, YOU'RE SO WONDERFUL AND SWEET.

  STAY POSITIVE AND SMILE ALWAYS !

  

  THE VERY NEXT DAY, WE WENT TO THE ZOO !

  SINGAPORE'S ZOO IS TRUTHFULLY ONE OF THE TOP 3 ZOOS IN THE WORLD!

  YOU KNOW WHY? CUZ EVEN THE POLAR BEAR AND GIRAFFE SAID 

  ''HAPPY BIRTHDAY '' TO ME !!!

  

  OH BEFORE I FORGET, ITS ALSO THE BEST ZOO CUZ WE  FOUND THE 

  RAREST ANIMAL ON EARTH ! 

  OH YESH ! IT'S PHIL THE SCUMBAG SIFU !! hahaha..

  HOW AMAZING WE ARE ALL IN SINGAPORE TOGETHER.

  FEELS LIKE HK ! CUZ NOBODY CARES WHAT WE DO THERE

  AND NOBODY LOOKS..... until....

  I WAS SABOTAGED BY MY VERY OWN FLESH AND BLOOD

  SISTER ROZY. SHE SCREAMED MY NAME AND THE BIRTHDAY GIRL

  WAS GRABBED ON STAGE!!!

  
  

  

  ITS THE BOILER ROOM AT ST. JAMES. MY FIRST TIME THERE.

  GOOD RECOMMENDATION MARILYN ! THE ENTERTAINERS ARE HILARIOUS

  AND EXTREMELY TALENTED SINGERS AND DANCERS !

  WOW ! what happened when  i got on stage? WELL ....

  MAINLY IT WAS JACKY BEING MOLESTED BY THE MAN(on the right toying with another guy) WHO LOVES HANDSOME MEN.

  FINALLY, IT'S SEPTEMBER 7TH, MY BIRTHDAY !

  MY LITTLE SISTER RHONDA SURPRISED ME WITH MY FAVORITE

  PIGLET !!!

  

  I LOVE IT SO MUCH I HAD TO HOLD ON TO IT THE ENTIRE DAY.

  I KINDA WISH I CAN HAVE EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE SO I CAN SHE CAN

  BE MY COMPANION EVERYWHERE I GO.... when i go out, when i dine at 

  home alone, sit next to me in my car... THE BEST PART IS, SHE'S NOT HEAVY AT ALL !

  AND.... SHE'S ABOUT THE SAME HEIGHT AS I AM...

  AND....SHE KINDA RESEMBLES MY MUM !

  

  SO CUTE !!!

  

  FOR THE ENTIRE DAY, WE WALKED LIKE THIS

  

  AND THEN.....WE CAME UPON A SMALL POND. 

  WE LOOKED DOWN AND  ...... SO SCARY....

  ITS A GIGANTIC FISH !

  I WAS TOLD BY A MAN THAT IF YOU ARE ABLE TO PICK UP A COIN

  FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE POND WITHOUT BEING EATEN BY THE FISH, 

  YOU'LL STRIKE LOTTERY !

  THE SAME MAN WHO TOLD ME THAT STORY SAID HE WON S$200K

  AFTER PINKING UP A DOLLAR FROM THE POND.

  
  

  WELL..... WE TRIED PUSHING EACH OTHER INTO THE POND BUT NO ONE SUCCEEDED.

  IF PHIL WAS AROUND I'M SURE WE'LL GANG UP AND PUSH HIM IN !

  OH WAIT ! WE CAN'T ! CUZ ALTHOUGH HE KNOWS KUNG FU, 

  HE CAN'T SWIM !

  OPPS ! it's a secret ..

  SINCE WE COULDN'T PICK UP A COIN, WE MIGHT AS WELL THROW IN SOME.

  ALL OF US HAD A COIN IN HAND AND I MADE A WISH,

  AND SURPRISE !!! MINE WAS THE ONLY COIN THAT LANDED  ON THE FISH'S BODY !

  MY MUM AND ROZY ATTEMPTED A FEW MORE TIMES BUT THEY ALL FAILED.

  I GUESS THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL

  BIRTHDAY POWER !

  

  see the coin on the fish?? it's mine !!   i guess i'm gonna start buying

  WE HAD MY BIRTHDAY DINNER AT A COZY ITALIAN RESTAURANT.

  GREAT FOOD, GREAT COMPANY. MY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES PLUS MY 

  GRANDMA WAS THERE. THANK YOU DADDY, MUMMY FOR BEING 

  WITH ME THE WHOLE TIME.WHAT MORE CAN I ASK FOR?? 

  
  

  I CAME BACK TO HONG KONG, CHECKED MY ALIVENOTDEAD AND WOW !

  THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF BIRTHDAY MESSAGES FOR ME.

  THANK YOU EVERYBODY!

  I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE ALL YOUR LOVE

  AND BLESSINGS !!

  I WISH THAT WE CAN ALL FIND LOVE AND HAPPINESS !!

  
  

  As an artiste, they are many times when you are being misunderstood and 

  it results in stream of blasting from people who aren't pleased with what you said.

  I can only apologize if sometimes my words have hurt some so deeply they

  had to go on a rampage of further destructions. I sincerely apologize.

  However, I guess we are smart enough to know that we can't trust every single

  word the newspaper writes and make an assumption when they could only use two 

  sentences to summarize what an artiste says after a fifteen interview. 

  
  

  Lets all THINK POSITIVELY INSTEAD OF THE WORST OF PEOPLE.
