A couple of days ago I was invited by Gobi Ng (The Drift King) to help out at another charity event for the China earthquake victims.  I also enlisted the help of Terence and was very happy and appreciative that he came by so readily to lend a hand.

During our interview, we were asked how we felt about Sharon Stone’s infamous comments about the earthquake tragedy.  I simply felt that focus should be placed upon the victims of this incident rather than anything else.  People will say what they will, but it is imperative that when something like this happens people need to get off their backsides and do something (anything) to help another person in need.  The effects of charity are accumulative.  A few dollars from one person might not be much, but if everyone did their part, those few dollars will end up being part of a much greater sum.

There's still a lot that needs to be done, so let's focus on helping the sufferers of this catastrophe and do our part in helping out.

I was listening to this woman, Mary Poplin, talk about her experiences working with Mother Theresa in Calcutta and I was suddenly reminded of this blog entry, so I thought I would share with you the link:  http://www.veritas.org/media/talks/379

    Pretty inspiring stuff.

This is a great service you did, Philip!  You set a fine example of focusing on positive-media charity/awareness for the victims of the quake.  Go ahead....do one of your flying kicks at a poster of Sharon Stone!  =D

    I agree with you, completely...
sometimes people are thrown into utter chaos by too much information...
"focus on helping the sufferers" and "do our part", that's the point!
I can only a few things... only a few... but I do it!
