Did you know that heath Ledger was named after Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights?

Anyway,my favourite books are Great Expectations and Wuthering Heights. And when people talk about love, about romance and relationships, they have an assortment of images. I don't think I have an ideal or imagined dream knight in shinning armour. I usually find that things like that don't exist and only set ourselves up to a ripple of a crescendo only to fall just as quickly in that flash. Currently I'm writing the love tracks of a film and I'm thinking of all these cutsy scenarios of teenage love,of puppy love,of painful remarkable sorrowful tragic love and those cathartic ones from Shakespeare that end in blood and gore. Ha. Now you know why I like naming my characters Pyramus and Thisbe? Because Romeo and Juliet had predecessors!

I like the Chairman from Memoirs of a Geisha. I like that sort of lump-in-your-throat- feeling when u meet that person. I like Heathcliff because he dares to love passionately and crazily. Some will call him evil, treacherous or mean to a certain extent but it's spellbinding, that ability to exude the energy for anybody. And I admire that. I admire Pip's non compromising pinning for Estella in Great Ex,but Pip isn't exactly Heathcliff so in a way, I emphathise with his struggles to be free of the prison and emotional traps he creates for himself. Pip is probably the best friend that I like most in a guy.

It's funny how I have to go around imagining these scenarios, isn't it better to experience firsthand? Yes and no. Yes because u do feel this bloodrush and adrenaline to your brain, yes, because u suddenly feel brighter, happier and eager as a beaver for all these reasons because well, u're in love. But no,at the same time because watching people fall in love is a very interesting experience from watching yourself. It's very very different to watch others frolick in the sun and run gazing deeply into each other eyes into the horizon and the director shouts ....CUT! Ok,haha u get the picture.

I had this talk with one of my friends,Lee Si Song about love once. SS is the brainchild behind Stephanie Sun's award winning songs and a musical genius. He tells me I need to fall in love. Fall in love,go go go. I looked at him quizically and muttered an inaudible "hokaY!" He told me how it was/is impossible for a music lover or composer to not feel passionately and deeply for something, anything. I asked him then, about people who felt passionately and deeply angry or hateful or empty about things and he smiled and told me I wasn't one of them. In any case,he said those were feelings of something visibly in need of the positive opposites which bring us back to love and the yippy, yappy woohoo feelings of mush.

    He was right.

Recently I met a friend who told me why he was convinced he was the stud I had not met. Feeling the familiar likes of yet another sleazy cheesy pickup line,I smiled and told him,uh huh, "enlighten me" in the guise of pure small talk. After all we were in a position  where not talking would be deemed a teeny wee bit rude.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. He had read alot of my poetry and blogs from facebook and alivenotdead (i think) and he was convinced that my character super suited him. Now I think OMG that's psychotic and crazy as hell dawg, but there's this stupid element of danger and fire I always liked experimenting with. Don't ask me why. I know I look like I'm a fragile and "damsel in distress" kind of girl in my pictures but I'm also a bungee jumping girl and love sky diving. C'mon anyone who likes these adventure sports has got to be a little wackier than average.

So what did I say? I said,"haha I didn't say I'm such an awesome person. Winning me over doesn not make u win. But if anything, let's play a game." Dude was truly surprised,it came totally unexpected. So was I really. What was I doing/thinking?

"Explain Rabbits or Inland Empire and tell me why u like or hate it. Secondly,it's up to u to want to do this or not, I repeated, tell me about yrself and yr life and yr dreams in the most fascinating way ever. And why if I dated u,it'd be fun for u and me."

    Wanna know wad happened?Stay tuned.

    Told you,I'm not nice.Haha.

PS: The purpose of this entire nonsensical game was really not an egotistical nor narcissistic twist. I was wondering and waiting to be chidded honestly but the dude kept stretching the answers in such an interesting way, I couldn't resist being naughty. I wasn't really trying to harm him,in all fun, what I REALLY wanted to do was say, Hey, let's play truth or dare. But I dare u all the way to run to the other end of Alaska with your skimpy shorts and come back in 30 years. See,the above game was easier.

To be honest I've read and seen adaptations of Wuthering Heights...even heard the Kate Bush song!, but I fail to see the evil that everyone else did in Heathcliff, and it's good to see someone think the same.

lol, yep there's a little devil behind the elegance in you :D

Wuthering Heights is my personal preference over Great Expectations .. actually, ALL of Bronte's works are ^^
The DVD with Ralph Fiennes & Juliette Binoche is as moving as the novel ..

Hope you have/had fun playin with that guy ^_~

WH and GE were strong favorites at one point. WH was so tragic and gothic. Something that really moved me at 14 years old. GE was great too - we all wished we had some benefactor to give us a little hand. There is always some sort of an Estella lurking in every stage of some boy's life.
