Phuket, 15 -19 June 2009 (pt 1 of 2 )

21 commentsJust got back from a 5 day getaway in Phuket, Thailand, with Avryl, the wife, her cousin, cousin's hubby and their 2 girls.
Day 1:
'Home' for the next 4 nights
Their room
Our room
Felicia 11, Avryl 7, Celeste 7. The girls invaded our room and proceeded to watch the cartoon channel.
Look who else invaded the premises...
...more like we were the invader to this little guy.

Day 2:
The weather was bad, raining on and off the entire morning up till about 3pm. The girls spent their day in the hotel's Kids' Club, while we grown-ups basically watched TV. When it eventually cleared up, we 4 grown-ups took a walk...
...and later, we picked up the girls from Kids' Club and took them on the same walk...
The real highlight of the day was a sushi buffet dinner at the hotel...
...we did not make a reservation, so we got seated in the cafe instead, 20m and 2 swing doors away from the buffet spread! Too busy shuttling back and forth to take any pictures of the food...only a couple of parting shots here.
Day 3:
Booked a mini van, guide and driver to take us around.
First stop, Phuket Gateway:
With all that history and culture to learn about, but what caught the girls' interest?

...it was a windy day ;)

All the girls, except the wife, wanted to feel the rush of water on their backs...
...so began a treacherous exodus...
...but i'd say it was all worth it :)
Then it was time to get dry and move out...
...for a simple seafood lunch, followed by...
...ELEPHANTS!
Next on the itinerary, Kata Viewpoint...
...Promthep, the southern most tip of Phuket...
...another nice vantage point frequented by the locals....
and finally, dinner buffet, all-you-can-eat for 125 baht/adult. Kids get half price. :)
