I met an Alive not Dead artist, Zhou Xiaofei in Beijing yesterday. I enjoyed conversation and yummy lunch with her very much. Her story from her new film was extremely intriguing!! 我去了"新光天地"一起吃点心了.

This area changes so dramatic, every time I come here, I found it's completely different.... now they built "Sanlitun Village".....然后, 我去了"三里屯Village"买东西了,

I met my actor friend, who acted the leading role in a Chinese TV series together, in the evening...晚上我跟一个好朋友石凉大哥见面了.

This restasurant bar is very interesting and unique. There are thousands of books here. It called Bookworm...我们去了非常有特色的"老书虫"酒吧餐厅.

Duck with caramelised balsamic sauce and chocolate crepes with Rum Raisin Ice Cream....very delicious!! 

I`m waiting for a flight back to London at the Beijing airport now. The good wireless internet connection keeps me happy updating my blog here..... I have to board now. My next blog will be from London :-)

Hi from freezing cold Beijing! I visited Jiang Wen’s filming location for his new film "Let the Bullets Fly" today. 凍えそうなほど寒い北京からこんにちは。今日は姜文監督の新作映画の撮影現場にお邪魔してきました。いつも北京に来ると、監督とは再会するのですが、今回はたまたま撮影が北京だったので、今年の5月以来半年振りの再会となりました。

He invited me to dinner with his crew between the shooting. To my surprise, he prepared a sashimi (raw fish） for me and one more guest from Japan. He knows we love sashimi and so does he!! He is such a generous and kind person. Since we worked on Devils on the Doorstep together more than 10 years ago, we have become good friends. Actually, he is a great senior at my drama school so I shouldn’t say he is a friend, he is my great teacher! I admire his works and warm personality very much. 最初の方はずっと撮影を拝見して、途中でご飯休憩になり、監督の部屋に呼ばれると、何と僕ともう一人のゲストのために、わざわざ刺身を取り寄せてくれてご馳走してくれました。監督自身も刺身は大好きですが、僕たちのために用意してくれるなんて、なんて優しいんでしょう。「鬼が来た！」の撮影でご一緒して以来、すっかり仲のいい友達のようになりましたが、実は母校の大先輩ですから、先生と呼ばなくては失礼ですね。でも、いつも温かく迎えてくれて、しかもいつもご飯付き！彼の作品と温かいお人柄にはいつも崇拝の念を抱いております。

Somehow the car which picked me up and the clipping board in the studio shows "火烧云 Burning Clouds"....Where on earth are the bullets gone.....??　なぜだかお迎えに来てくれて車のフロントガラスには「火焼雲」って書いてあったので、誰か違う組の人かと思ってわかりませんでした。でも現場に行くと、カチンコにもそう書いてあったので、名前が変わったんでしょうか？もともとの題名にあった「弾丸」はどこに行ってしまったんでしょうか？？

I can’t show any pictures about the filming in public at this stage, but it looks very interesting....Chow Yun Fat and Carina Law are also the cast in the film. I'm looking forward to seeing the film on screen.  I might pop in to the location again if I have an opportunity to come back to Beijing soon. Does anyone offer me a job in China soon?? hahaha..... :-)　まだ公開前ですので、撮影中の写真とは控えさせていただきますが、見ていてとても面白そうな現場でした、公開が楽しみですね。チョウ・ユンファとカリーナ・ラウも香港から参加のようですね。また中国に来る機会があれば、お邪魔したいと思いますが、今度は一体いつになるやら・・・誰か僕に中国に来る仕事のオファーないですか？？（笑）

When I got up and looked through the window, it was snowing in Beijing.　昨日の悲惨なフライトから気分一新。朝起きたら窓の外は雪、悪天候にもめげず、今日は一日とても忙しい日になりました。

I was invited to the 8th Beijing International Short Film Festival at Beijing Film Academy...

I attended an international directors` forum in the morning.....

It is called, International Student Film and Video Festival. However, almost all the films are from the official selection or winners of famous film festivals from all over the world such as Festival de Cannes, Festival de San Sebastian, Sundance Film Festival, Los Angeles Short Festival etc....... There are a lot of buyers and other film festival organisers here.

A London-based female director and I were here with our new film "Still". It was actually shown at the London Young Film Festival in London yesterday. Unfortunately our bodies couldn`t be spilit in half, so we couldn`t attend the one in London this time.... 

There was a Q&A session afterwards....

Actually, our film "Still" was the most discussed and questioned film....

I was surprised that I bumped into familiar faces from "City of Life and Death" co-workers here! Whmmmm, "Beijing! Beijing!"

After the screening, I went to a very popular bar-restaurant called "Library Cafe".

I ordered noodles because it`s freeeeeeeeeeeezing here.....

I was so glad to meet passionate young directors from all over the world and discuss the future film projects.... Great night!! Days in Beijing still continue..... :-)

Hi everyone, I`m here in Beijing now! I have experienced an awful day thanks to Air China....みなさん、こちら北京からこんにちは。昨日は本当にドタバタの日でした・・・

前もって3時間も前に空港に着いて、余裕をもってすべてのセキュリティーを通過したのはいいけれど、いつまで経っても搭乗のアナウンスが流れない。みんな不満爆発で、みんな係りの人が通ると少しでも情報をゲットしようとしている。聞くところによると、何だかトイレの修理中！？そんなのお客様が来る前にやっておけよということだけど。そんなことはいつものこと、中国が関わると何かが起きますよ、いつもね・・・

で、搭乗口で1時間以上待ったあと、結局あと、1時間はトイレ修理にかかるので、一旦ばれて下さいとのアナウンス。ばれてくださいと言われても、空港じゃあ喫茶店くらい？で、仕方なく少し早めの夕食をとって時間をつぶしました。

2時間遅れのフライトになってしまい・・・でも、結局トイレの修理はできておらず、またそれから機内で1時間くらい待たされて、理由を聞くと、乗り継ぎの人を待っているとか・・・？？それっておかしくない？もともと3時間も遅れているんだから、その人は初めから乗れる訳のない便でしょ、この便には。今は3時間も遅れて、乗れそうになったから、今ここで全員待たせて、乗り継ぎの人を優先させる？？わからない。ま、結局、3時間遅れで、トイレも直らず、乗り継ぎ便の人を待ってから出発するという結果に・・・

僕の席のあたりは最悪で、200人くらいの席数が満席になっているのに、それを2つのトイレで対応する。トイレに行くのに、いつもこのように長蛇の列。これ、両側で待ってるから、結局は片側で200人が一つのトイレを待つことになります。トイレに入って用事は1分もかからないのに、待つのは1時間くらいはかかりました。信じられないけど、一人で20分も入っている人もいて勘弁してよという感じ。結局水を飲まないようにして、トイレには1回しか行きませんでした。でも、ロングフライトでこんなサービスは信じられない、Air China。それにしても、客席にこのカーテンは何？

しかも起きて、朝食は硬いクロワッサンはまだいいけど、メインは朝っぱらから油べっとりのやきそば・・・

It`s snowing in Beijing! 着いてみると。北京は寒々しい雪景色・・・

とにかく温かくておいいしいものを食べたくて、いざレストランに・・・

It was so freezing that I have to wear a hood in the restaurant. Welcome to Beijing! レストランにいても寒くて、ほっかむり状態・・・零下の世界へようこそ！

この樽に入ったお粥、たったの6元です。日本円で78円くらいかな。Air Chinaは二度と御免だけど、Chinaは大好きーー！

All I can say on this blog is it`s best to avoid Air China.. What I got today was 3 hours delay for repairing broken toilets, but still not repaired and the consequence was a very limited toilet service (only 1 toilet provided for 200 people on a long flight!! Mad, Mad!!), no compensation at all and still waiting for the transit person from somewhere.....Are we supposed to be still in this airport in this time of the day?? The breakfast is very oily fried noodles and very hard croissant .Their service really sucks!! I love to go to China, but I wouldn`t recommend Air China getting there! :-(
