Audiotraffic Delivers

I decided to make the pilgrimage from Shenzhen to Hong Kong this evening to pay homage to audiotraffic by attending the release party for their latest CD - 5 years in the waiting.  At least, that was what I heard from some fans who were giving the band members a hard time during the reception.  That Josie Ho and Paul Wong were making guest appearances was an added bonus.  And if that was not enough incentive to attend, a copy of the new CD was bestowed upon all attendees. As usual, I was clueless as to who the "A-list" people were (aren't we all A-list?), so when the media started firing away, I did the same.  When the AnD crew lined up, all the photographers looked confounded, but I knew what to do. As I don't know everyone (understatement), I've asked Mark to tag people.  Thanks in advance.  If we were introduced and I forgot your name, don't take it as an affront.  I check my own I.D. each morning. I still haven't seen 24 Herbs perform, but they were cool in person. Audiotraffic rocked the house!  I enjoy hearing bands live for the first time because I've no expectations on what they "should" sound like relative to their CD.  These guys did not disappoint.  Ditto for Josie and Paul too.  I knew Berton would be doing his thing, so I felt no impetus to fight the crowd for a decent vantage point in which to shoot the performance, so no killer closeups from me.  Undoubtedly some will surface. I just like this shot because of the alien taking photos of Josie. In the front of the club, there is a wall of flat screens with numerous angles of the stage providing great coverage for latecomers and those not wanting to fight the crowd. This was a welcome diversion for me.  I thought the whole set sounded terrific and I look forward to listening to the CD.  I've got to say though, for my money, the best song was an awesome cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit performed with Paul.  They put Nirvana to shame.  Capturing Mark in the act Mark was riveted She so looks better in that shirt than I do in mine

Afterwards, I went out with Mark and Anitta (I think) to Tsui Wah Restaurant.  Before long, half the people from the performance were eating there too, but I do think AnD is taking event endorsements a bit too far. For me, the night ended with a taxi, bus, exit Hong Kong, bus, enter China, taxi.  Ah, the good life.
