What DSLR or compact camera is good?

need to get them both soon

my camera is officially fucked - havent been able to do much photo-manipulation in ages

what are your recommendations?

would love to have something good to make quality work

i am using nikon p5100 ..already good enough for me~haha recently i did try to use canon 700 from friends..it's seems hv new version ..it is easy handle ~pretty good

Hi Shann I discussed this previously with Dan at one of the Tottenham get-togethers. As someone said you can't go wrong with Nikons or Canons. Personally I dig the former, but both are solid. Nikons - D40x is on sale now, because the newer D60 is out. Both models worth investigating, they both have .jpg and RAW modes for easy manipulation. Also worth looking into downloading a program such as Ulead Photoimpact or Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo if you can't obtain the full version of Photoshop.
