I am finally over that horrid disease, whatever it was. But now it's gone, and there's no alimony involved, so I ought to count my blessings...
Thank you all for your encouragement and support. It meant a lot to me, even if I didn't say so at the time.
I am also grateful for your compliments on the video. It was fun recording the song, and fun making the video. As medicated as I was, almost anything would have been fun, but I still enjoyed myself a lot doing it.
Though I imagine my neighbors were a little freaked out by that weird voice they heard singing 'Happy Birthday' in three different registers...
I used a 'talk box' for that part, something made famous by Peter Frampton and Joe Walsh.
There was one on a Bon Jovi song too, but f@#$ him.
I am already back to work and back to the gym, which means I am now sleepy and achy from activity rather than illness.
And thank God for that.
I wish I had any other exciting (or simply significant) news to share, but I don't. Such is the nature of my life.
I will go back to the US for a couple weeks starting the 20th, to visit family and friends. I will be glad for the clean air and time with people I haven't seen in a decade in some cases.
I will also see my great aunt (my grandmother's sister), who is 90. One hates to be pragmatic about such matters, but the simple truth is that I need to see her now since... I'd rather not even think it, inevitable as it is.
I'm looking forward to the AnD party Saturday night; it will be good to get out and do something for a change.
But I can't stay too late, because I have to go to my god-daughter's 1st birthday party on Sunday. It's being held at a McDonald's. I'll just hold Winsome a lot, so I won't have to eat anything. Though her aunt wants to take a photo of me in a McDonalds since I never go there.
Do you blame me?
Ah well, back to work. My summers are spent doing research, which is as exciting and titillating (!) as it sounds.Still, I suppose it is better to be the progenitor of such bland fare as opposed to being the protagonist in a news story headlined "Wedding Video Ruined by Streaker."
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
