Cry on Call

PICK UP an issue of HOT Magazine: June 2009! 

I never know if its ever really good to write about projects that haven’t happened or won’t happen. Cuz it’s not good to toot our own horn. I used to call my agent in Toronto after every audition and tell him that I got it! Of course, him being much more experienced, would tell me that I could be great, but someone else after me could have been better.

This is the part where I crash and burn. I always feel an entitlement to every role/job/position that is being offered to me and no matter how long I’ve done this, I always hate finding out that I don’t always win. Today I auditioned for a film that will be shooting in Malaysia, it’ll definitely be international but I expect it will at least encourage me to look at more foreign films in the world, outside of Hollywood.

I think actors always feel patronized when we have to cry on cue. It seems so false and redundant, but i was asked to do it today. I believe this is the 3rd time in an audition i’ve been asked to cry, and this time I really cried. I cried my heart out and at the end of it, I was shaking. Well, at least I know I have that in me! I’m a real actor now. HAHAHAHA but if there was anything I’ve learnt about some of the workshops I’ve attended, is to have access to the emotions and making those private moments public. Cross your fingers!

Today, I rocked a shoot with JUICE Magazine for another wicked Nike installment. Featuring: Azwin Andy, Nesh and myself as these characters hopping around in awesome Nike gear! Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!!
