victor tan, sculpting without sight+ models/photogs needed

dear all this , introducing victor tan, the inspiration behind the character of "ah bing" in "your hand in mine", currently airing on channel 8 7pm mon-fri. victor is a blind sculptor from singapore who makes huge sculptures  with metal wires. these photos were taken at SAVH,where he was working on his new exhibit. i have seen him poke his eyes with wires numerous times, manage pulleys and climb ladders all by himself. i cannot do what he does even with sight, can you?

check out his website

SAVH has a very interesting program called dining in the dark, where you are invited to have a 3 course meal in a pitch dark room served by blind waiters. u can experience the difficulties of eating/drinking without vision. when they turned on the lights at the end of the meal, my whole plate was scattered with ketchup and food bits were all around the table, tea was spilled and cutlery was on the floor. sure makes you appreciate your vision and wonder: how do they do it?

helping the visually handicapped is not a popular cause, we seldom see/hear of blind people except in films/on tv, but the SAVH is in dire needs of donations. No donation is too small. 30-40SGD will buy a visually handicapped person a blind cane.

to donate to volunteer

SAVH is also looking for 2 models and 2 event photographers to volunteer their services at the charity gala fundraiser at ritz carlton singapore on the 26th of march. the models are needed to usher president S R Nathan and the event photographers are needed to document the gala dinner. people in the industry if u can help please kindly contact :
