    Gomorra

I watched this movie last night and all I can say is, it's brilliant.  As soon as I was finished I watched it again.  I'm shocked that it wasn't nominated for an Oscar for best foreign film.  Although it was nominated for a BAFTA, it didn't win.

In the US it's released as a Martin Scorsese Presentation which, to me, doesn't do the film justice as this piece of work stands on its own.  It doesn't need the hype, the 'Hollywood movie trailer voiceover' or the name-dropping.   But... here's the trailer if you're interested.

Nice! Looks very gritty and seems to have a sense of realism missing in a lot of movies lately.  Will check it out and discuss with you later!

It looks really good! I can't wait to see it, thanks for the tip!
I have a question about the "Martin Scorsese Presentation", I thought that meant that he was presenting the film to the US or where ever, meaning protecting the film so that it is released/shown without any editing or changes made in translation etc. Quentin Tarantino presented the film "Hero" and in interviews he and others said to protect it. Am I wrong in that understanding?

the word gritty comes to mind.  i guess scorcese couldn't remake this, set it in his precious NYC, and pretend it was original.
