Routines

I dislike routines. Thats why I chose to be in the entertainment industry.

My previous job wasn't much of a routine either. Its a round-the-clock service job in the office for the Land Transport Authority whereby sometimes I'm required to work overnight shifts all alone to tend to road-work needs. I believe there's more to life when you're doing different things everyday, not knowing what will come around next.

My schedules are always unknown till the week itself, of sometimes, on the day itself. Its not like I can't plan my life properly. I do have a long term goal. But what I'm referring to is that different shoots/workshops/rehearsals/events will just pop out the day of two before, especially after you went for castings and the result will never return to your ears.

Recently, there's changes in my life. I'm hopping onto routines again.

One of the job that kept me real busy these two weeks is KittyLab. Hello Kitty Lab. Don't ask me if I'm wearing kitty costumes. I'm doing a favour for a friend who's running the event to be a host/actor. My job is simple. Explain the rules of the games in the kitty lab in a toony manner. Pretty interesting and challenging especially when the crowd isn't big, or no kids are among the crowd and yet I gotta act kiddy. After explaining for 5 minutes, I get to break for 5 minutes and the next loop goes. I gotta wake up early in the morning to report to work Mondays-Sundays. Now tell me is this called routine.

Sneaky pictures at Kittylab.

Glad it'll be over after this weekend. But more routines to come. I can't imagine myself waking up every morning for rehearsals for 2 full monthes next year. But I believe this is a good training to prepare myself for the upcoming Big productions.

I'll be involved in two Theatre Productions, Classic Play 'To kill a MockingBird' by Harper Lee, and Local mandarin theatre Legend 'December Rains' by Liang WenFu. Its my first step into the theatre scene. Its something that I had never expect myself to be doing. But since the oppotunity came by, I might as well take it and give myself more experiences. I was told theatre is the best training ground for acting. More updates on the theatre will come onto my blog beginning of next year.
