聊斋Rocks!

Ever since I started stage acting, I'm becoming more and more aware of the Theatre scene, not only in Singapore. And this is the one that got me all hyped up. Liao Zhai Rocks.自从我开始演舞台剧，我就开始留意各大剧团的制作。 其中让我最期待最有兴趣的，就是聊斋Rocks.I was really late to catch it. It take place at the same location as TKAMockingbird, Drama Centre @ National Library. And we went back to back. The group bumped in for their rehearsals immediately after the mockingbirds bumped out, and had their first show on the following Friday. I had been away (Holidays) and then its been crazy busy right after I'm back. In fact, I decided to watch it only right after the screening of 'Fog', as last Saturday night was the last show already. 很巧！聊斋公演的地点，就是我们公演Mockingbird的国家图书馆戏剧中心！而且还是紧接着来。我们公演晚的那一个周末，聊斋就开场了。我一直都没办法看（因为之前出国去了）。回来后又忙得要命。到最后，发现看‘雾’的那个星期六完上是最后一场了，才当天决定要去看的。So whats so special about Liao Zhai Rocks? Its taken from the famous Chinese novel 'Liao zhai zhi yi', a book which consist of over 200 mini stories. Mostly Ghost related, otherwise love. Or both. Liao Zhai Rocks took parts from around 30 stories, rewrote the script and made it into their original masterpiece. Brilliantly pieced together. To add more to it, the element of 'Rock' music was added into the musical to create a really disturbing rockin' roll in hell. Led byRic LiuandJoanna Dong, both superb singers whom voices I personally really love, the casts also includes many newly made theatre friends of mine likeHang Qian Chou, Judee Tan and Gordon Choy, whom I will be working with in December Rains,Sugie PhuaandCeline Rosa Tan.聊斋Ｒｏｃｋｓ是由聊斋志异里三十多个故事所组成。加入了摇滚的元素，让音乐剧与众不同。想象充满着摇滚的地狱里头，弥漫着两对情侣桑晓（刘晋旭）与婴宁（董姿彦），成半仙（潘嗣敬）与封三娘（陈淑灵）的爱。生离死别。当中还有即将在雨季合作的韩乾畴，陈映奇，徐啸天出演群众人物。I also bumped into fellow December Rain castQianyu.对了，我还在当晚碰到雨季演员Qianyu.Undeniable, Liao Zhai Rocks really did rock down the National Library, as what Joanna Dong said to me! Totally enjoyed it. Now you know why I'm having such a great Saturday!无可否认，聊斋Ｒｏｃｋｓ真的非常棒！太喜欢了！现在你知道，我的星期六过得有多开心了吧？Next show I'm gonna catch will be this! Animal Farm! By fellow AnD ArtisteLim Yu Beng.
