Just regular same old O-bon holiday　何でもないお盆の一日

In August japan has a holiday called "o-bonお盆".Here is some information for o-bon....so read this if you are interested in japanese old culture.

The other day I checked with my chinese dictionary it says "云兰盆节" but my chinese friend said "云兰盆节因为什么？" so it seems wrong ha~ お盆について「それって何？」と質問をいただいたので説明しますね。ほとんどコピペ(^^;)

O-bon is observed during the month of August. Every household welcomes back its ancestors'departed souls to this world during this period, which is usually from August 13 through 15.

To hold a memorial service to the spirits of ancestors, there are some Buddhist events.

Because the spirits of the dead are said to return at this time, fires are lit at the entrances to homes so the spirits do not lose their way, and, in addition to lanterns being lit inside homes, the Buddhist home altars are tidied up and vegetables and fruit are set out as offerings.

And when bon is over, the spirits are sent on their way. This is called the escorting of the spirits and fires to speed their seeing off are lit at entrances of homes and offerings are floated on rivers and the ocean.

The real meaning of o-bon is like this. but now for many people o-bon is just a name for one of holiday. Many companies and stores are closed during the O-bon holiday. People return to their hometown, or go on a vacation to the beach, to the mountains, or abroad. Railroad stations,airports,highways are packed with travelers.Specially highway has bad traffic jam.

and I today... My family same as many people around here, went to my grandma's house has our Buddhist altars(仏壇).

Mine is not big family now so we had just casual snack lunch and tea time together.

うちの家族は少ないし親戚が集まることはないので、おばあちゃんのご機嫌を伺いにいき、若干贅沢なサルバトーレクオモのデリバリーピザ食べて名古屋で有名な「梅花堂の鬼まんじゅう」を食べてまったりと過ごしました。いたって普通ですね（笑

This is japanese sweets called "oni manju"鬼饅頭. made with sweet potato. taste is very tender sweet. not too sweet.鬼まんじゅうはやさしい甘さですね。

 This shop is famous for this sweet(oni manju 鬼饅頭)この時期は予約しないと買えないらしい。

my grandma's feeding my dog a piece of oni manju. dog's sitting very nice she's trying to be a very GOOD GIRL for getting bigger piece:))なんでも欲しがる家の犬。犬は食べ物のためならとっても良い子ができるのだ。

I wanted to show you our Buddhist altars but suppose not to take pics of it. My grandma told me not...so I can't sorry.It is because believed the spirit is in it. I don't know if you understand or not...

つまり、心霊写真になったら困るので仏壇の写真は自粛します。やっぱし墓場＆仏壇の写真はまずいですよね(^^);
