Ha ha, is the title blatant enough? Jason Mraz was the 'keynote' final speaker at Music Matters Asia 2010 last night. I couldn't help but take a video for the sake of all you faithful etchy blog readers old and new.
Here's the finale when he performed "I'm Yours" live. Including a bit of his intro about how the song spread via the internet:

and as you can see, a bit of an encore/reprise/Bob Marley tribute that he did at the end of the talk...Sorry for the video quality, I should have gotten a better seat. :-P
I didn't video it, but he did a duet of "Lucky" with an indonesian singer named Dira Sugandhi:
She was singing her part in Bahasa (the main language of Indonesia) from what I gather.
also he came to the 'Music Matters Live' music events in LKF that night (unfortunately not to the alivenotdead.com showcase (as far as I know), but I did go up and say hi to him at the California Bar next door after our event ended. pictures from that event forthcoming, but you can see some of my tweet photos here:
On May 28, Jason Mraz was a special guest at this year's Music
Matters Asia conference, Asia's only music conference held each year in
Hong Kong. Mraz appeared at the conference finale for an interview and
acoustic performance before an audience of several hundred music
industry leaders from around the world.
Jason Mraz talked about the evolution of his mega-hit "I'm Yours", the 3rd top-selling digital song of the decade, for which he was recently awarded Song of the Year by ASCAP. He then performed an acoustic version of "I'm Yours."
"bahasa" means "language" in indonesian/malay. "bahasa indonesia" or simply "indonesian" would be the accrate way of referring to the spoken language of indonesia.
joanne - yes, he comes across as a pretty laid back and positive person. the biggest applause line he got was when he mentioned that his goal in life was to just make a living doing music, and once he had a regular gig playing at a coffee shop in San Diego selling home made CDs of his shows and living out of his car, he had basically achieved that goal and was happy.
