  • Jay Chou and Lin Chiling at 'Treasure Hunters' HK Premiere - 周杰倫和林志玲在《刺堎》紅毯 #jaychou

I just got home from the Red Carpet premiere of Jay Chou's new film 'Treasure Hunter',  directed by Kevin Chu and costarring Lin Chiling.  (yes Lin Chiling!)

Patrick, Elena, Shan and I went to the HITEC Center in Kowloon Bay for the pre-screening festivities.  They didn't promise who would be there on the invite who would attend, but I had my fingers crossed that both Jay and Chiling would be there.... (actually Lin Chiling more than Jay...)  :-D

We got there a bit early and had to wait a while for the artists to show up and the event to get underway.

Rather than give up my prime spot by the main stage,  we had to look from a far as the photographers shot all the incoming VIPs at the sign board on the other side of the room... doh.

all we saw were a lot of flashes. :-P

except for these two Taiwanese models, who were nice enough to stop and pose for me on their way by. ;-)

Shan and Patrick were not impressed.

They didn't actually come out til like 30 minutes after the screening was supposed to have already started, but yes, Jay and Lin Chiling were there:

cool. Over the years  I've seen most of the bigger named Chinese artists either in person or at events like this before, but this is the first time for either of these two. ;-)

That's the director Kevin Chu with Lin Chiling.

    Here's your Jay Chou close-up ladies. :-P

Personally my attention, like many of the photographers, was focused on Lin Chiling, who's fashion model training came in handy, as she posed down while the MC was going on and on about something... :-P

    "Chiling! To the right please!"

since both stars are from Taiwan, the interviews were done in Mandarin,  between this and Mavis' show last Sunday,  I'm on a roll!  two events in a row I can understand (almost) everything.  :-P

the MC made them do some typical lame stuff on stage,  including recreating the pose on the motorcycle they did in the movie.  The most interesting thing was when the MC said "hey Jay Chou, she's just as tall as you are!" (notice she has absolutely zero heels on her boots!)

they also made them do some action poses... while holding their microphone. :-P

then the finale, a bunch of company execs and producers came up to join the director and stars for the toast.

Congrats to the cast and crew!

Then it was off to the giant screening in Star Hall

My review of the actual movie is coming up tomorrow!  (Merry Christmas in the meanwhile!)

UPDATE:  Elena has much much better pics here:
