可爱的中国文字/Learning the Chinese Language

Best way to teach a lanaguage is through story telling. Every character has a story to tell.

觉得,用说故事的方法来教导语文是很好的。 每个中国字体,都有独特的来源。

"小(xiao)=little”

"大(da)=big"

“尖(jian)=sharp“

”木(mu)” = wood (trunk)

“林(lin)” = Wood (a tiny forest)

“森(sen)” = Forest

When two or three chinese characters are combined or grouped, you can sort of guess the meaning of the word.... in relation to their original root. Many chinese character takes on similar shaping.

"宝(bao3)" = Precious one -  Jade(玉) under your roof, is precious.

"灾(zai1)" = Catastrophy - Fire(火) under the roof is trouble.

"国(guo2)" = Country - Jade within walls

"困(kun4)" = Trapped - wood within walls

"女(nv3)" = Girl/Daughter

"子(zi3)" = Child/Boy/Son

"好(hao3)" = Good - To have a son and a daughter is "good" + another usage: "Yes"

" 不(bu4)" = No

" 孬(nao1)" = Cowardly - To be cowardly is "No good"

" 用(yong)" = Use

" 甭(beng2)" = No use, No need

"田(tian2)" = Paddy field

"力(li4)" = Strenght

"男(nan2)" = Male - A person using strenght to work in the paddy field, traditionally that's the male of the family.

"日(ri4)" = Sun

"月(yue4)" = Moon

"明(ming2)" = Sun + Moon = Brightness (Clarity). May be used with other characters that extend its meaning. Example: "明天(ming tian1)" = Tomorrow "明晚 (ming wan3)" = Tomorrow night.

Some Chinese radicals are just elements to construct Chinese characters, they are not separate Chinese characters themselves, nor do they have pronunciations.

Example:
