有一個女生，第一次與男友吃飯－－不，是前男友了，是在一家淡水魚餐館。
那時，她剛大學畢業，很矜持，話很少，只低低地笑。
一條魚，一條叫不出名字的魚，是那天飯桌上的唯一一個葷菜。魚身未動，男友先搛起魚眼放到她面前：「喜歡吃魚眼嗎？」
她不喜歡，而且她也從來不吃魚眼，但卻不忍拒絕，羞澀地點了點頭。
男友告訴她，他很喜歡吃魚眼，小時侯家裡每次吃魚，奶奶都把魚眼搛給他吃，說魚眼可以明目，小孩吃了心裡亮堂。可奶奶死了後，再也沒有人把魚眼搛給他了。
其實想想魚眼也並沒有什麼好吃的，男友笑著說，只是從小被奶奶嬌寵慣了，每次吃魚，魚眼都要歸我－－以後，就歸你了，讓我也寵寵你。
男友深深地凝視著她。
她想不明白，為什麼魚眼就代表著寵愛。明不明白無所謂，反正以後只要吃魚，男友必會把魚眼搛給他，再無限憐愛地看著她吃。
