Just figured it out ... music sales, press & blog columns, Twitter traffic and even YouTube hits are no longer the benchmark for what's buzzing in music.

No... easily the most reliable benchmark of popularity for music is how many seeders & leechers your torrent has in conjunctions with how many download sites & warez forums are posting RAR links.

In which case Juliet & Auerbach are the two most popular songs I've ever done ... It's actually quite cool poking around some of the more sordid corners of the internet seeing where my music has ended up: From a warez site in Romania to a techno forum in Chile, even a couple of random YouTube uploads featuring – rather annoyingly – film posters of Leonardo DiCaprio as the graphic for Juliet... gross... not what I had in mind.

And a quick parting joke for you:

Q: Where is the best place to go for live music & clubbing in Hong Kong?
    A: Macau.

Bravo HK SAR Government. You are a bunch of incompetent idiots who couldn't grasp culture growth if it shat on your Mercedes.

your next song should be titled 'Jack and Rose' just to make sure you corner the Leonardo fan-girl upload crowd. ;-)

Yeah – it seems to be a fact now – that all the big parties and international events are choosing Macau to host simply because it's less trouble and more likely to succeed.

It will be interesting to see how long the HK punters remain interested in ferry trips & overnight stays – if they keep going past 6 months then I would say HK is done for.

Idiotic capacity, liquor, noise and fun legislation in HK combined with extortionate rents and a myriad of other issues make doing anything big here either expensive or just a major ballache.

As for what can be done about it... uh, elections? I win Mark 6 and open the perfect venue & operate at a loss? No idea! :')

If that joke wasn't so funny it would be sad.

Wait... shouldn't that be the other way around?

Either way, you've hit the nail on the head.

So what shall we do about it???
