...I, tragically, am not.

I'm terrible with emails and blogs because it takes me about three and a half times longer than the average person to hammer out a response.

A friend marveled at my latent inability the other day, telling me that I was the only person she knew that didn't know how to type.

Ouch. Yes, please pour more salt into my wound.

I remember when we were kids in elementary school a teacher implored of us to take typing classes when it was later offered as an elective, because it would serve us in the modern world for the rest of our lives...

Yes, of course it will! And of course I shall!

And then I believe I signed up for underwater badminton, or some other equally compelling and useful elective.

So fast forward all this time, and in fact, here I am now- sitting in the middle of this modern world, trying to learn to type without looking at the keyboard:

I jsurt (FAIL) can't seem to be consistent ensounf (FAIL) to wean myseld (FAIL) off the need to diveryt (FAIL) my eyeballs from the keuboard (FAIL).

So, back to seventh grade for me- one repetitive keystroke at a time. I've found a program in the Mac store that looks to offer salvation from the damnation of being a type cripple for the rest of my days- it's not sexy, but I've got high hopes for it-

Lesson one, let the good times roll:

But damn, you'd think I'd at least have a ferocious underwater badminton game to show for my misspent youth...

Isn't it kind of ironic that your character on CSI is a tech expert?
But that being said, yes I am grateful for all the hours my mother had me spend practicing my typing in front of the computer even though 9-year-old me had much rather go out to enjoy the sunshine.

Dear Archie, it‘s very nice to see your update. There are some mini game for practicing typing or there are some kinds of writing pad for Mac.
By the way, good luck for the underwater badminton game.^_^

don't worry... my father can't type very well... of course he is much older than you... and worked in an age when secretaries did everyone's typing... but its ok!

Kao grew up in the suburbs of Virginia, USA. He attended George Mason University where he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity and graduated with a degree in Speech Communication. Kao was elected Homecoming King while at George Mason University. While at GMU, he served as student body president (as well as vice-president the year prior). He had planned to attend law school and possibly work in politics before becoming an actor.

Kao speaks and understands rudimentary Mandarin Chinese because he grew up in a bilingual household. He has two sisters. He also studied French for six years while in school.[citation needed]

Kao shares birthday with fellow Power Rangers actress Thuy Trang (1973-2001), who played the original Yellow Ranger, Trini Kwan, in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from 1993 to 1994.

He was named one of People Magazine's "Hottest Bachelors" in 2006.

Kao currently resides in Los Angeles.
