One of my friends invited me last night to witness a little piece of history as
The Police performed for the first time in Singapore. It was one leg on their big reunion tour, and the audience was definitely anticipating how the performance would go. The entire show was very entertaining, especially when you know these guys are digging out some of their tracks from decades ago. I think that was also reflected in the crowd last night, in which there were a lot of more "mature" people so I didn't feel too old. Here are some of the clips I took from the concert:
Sting still looks--and sounds--as good as he did decades ago...
...and the rest of
The Police really seemed to be enjoying themselves too.
Great job, you guys! If you still got it...then rock on just like
The Rolling Stones did back in Budapest when I saw them during the race. It seems like Reunion Tours are totally back in season, huh?? All these legendary bands want a piece of the action once again.
Back to the world of racing around the world, Time is quickly ticking away for the second season of
The Amazing Race Asia. There's only two episodes left and four teams remain. I think there's a good chance that I'll have to eliminate one more team this week. Which one do you think it will be?
Things are also starting to ramp up for the third season of the show. I'm already hearing that applications are flowing into the AXN mail room pipelines so make sure you get yours in if you'd like to be a part of this unforgettable experience. I must warn you that there will most likely be a large number of applicants so the competition just to get on the show might be tough. However, you'll never know if you've got what it takes to be (and possibly win) in the race if you don't sign up so it all starts from believing in yourself...and someone else to partner up with you! So go download that application form from AXN, follow the instructions, and send in your completed stuff!
The last several days, I've been spending a lot of time in an audio suite to "lay down" the voiceover segments for a new show I'm doing for Channel 5 here in Singapore. Actually, it's not really a new show because I'm sure you might have heard of it. If I tell you that Dean Cain from
Lois & Clark used to be the host of it, would you be able to guess what it is??
The production is scrambling to get it all done in time because it will air as early as mid-February so that's crunch time in terms of the production time-line.
Happy Chinese New Year (especially for all you Rats out there!) and make sure you don't miss this week's episode of The Amazing Race Asia. I heard Sophie started leaking tears after she found out where we go to next. Even better...our story producer for the show said she's seen this episode twenty times during the editing process. And she has cried EVERY single time she's watched it so get the handkerchiefs and tissue paper ready!
