Well, the second season of T
he Amazing Race Asia is officially over. I hope you enjoyed watching the race from start to finish and were also able to catch the special
TARA Memories episode this week. I'd like to thank all the fans and supporters of the show with all their positive and encouraging comments, and I can't wait to get Season Three started later this year. I'll keep you updated once I receive more information. In the meantime, have you submitted your application cuz the deadline is coming up soon?
Before I part ways with TARA2, I've enclosed some final shots of a charity carwash we participated in with Caltex. All the proceeds from the cars washed last weekend were donated to the Foundation for Underprivileged Children, and all the team members present were really excited about contributing for a good and worthy cause.
We all rolled outta bed pretty early on that Saturday morning and made our way to the designated Caltex station in Singapore, and we were all ready to have some wet and wild fun!
Of course, we had to send the lovely ladies to ask for donations for this Caltex Charity Carwash, and the likes of Pamela and Aurelia did quite a convincing job keeping the boys busy wetting and washing down the automobiles.
Alas, all good things must come to an end so we all huddled up one last time for a group shot before everyone returned back home to various parts of Asia. Everyone had a great time dousing each other with water hoses and pails. I wish I could've taken more pictures of those, but I was too soaked to be able to handle a digital camera at that time.
Now, a lot of people ask me what do I do as we gear up for the third season of TARA? Actually, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to host the local Singapore version of the iconic U.S. show,
Ripley's Believe It or Not. I've been really busy getting the filming and voiceover work completed, especially since the first episode already premiered this past Tuesday. Here is a shot of me preparing for my lines in Mediacorp Studios.
Once I get my lines memorized, then it's time to turn on the smoke machine and fire (or film) away...
Of course, I don't get to hold the scrīpt in my hand when I do the real "take," and it's a challenging process because we shoot six to seven to possibly eight episodes in one "Go!" I think next time, I'm going to try out an Autocue (or teleprompter) similar to the ones utilized by newsreaders. If you do happen to see the show, let me know if you can tell whether I'm reading something or not!
Ripley's Believe It or Notairs every Tuesday evening at 8:30 PM on Channel 5 here in Singapore...and the stories are truly unbelievable!
In the meantime before I start racing around the world again, I'll enjoy the dark, air-conditioned confines of shooting in a studio setting.
On another note, this year happens to be a Leap Year, and there's a great local Singaporean movie coming out next week on February 29. More on that and the beautiful lead actress who holds it all together next time!
