July 22, 2010 (Hong Kong) – Presented by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS), the 5th Summer International Film Festival (SIFF) will open with the World Premiere of All About Love, the 23rd feature from three-time Best Director winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Ann Hui (Night and Fog).

The star-studded SIFF opening will be held on August 11, 2010 at The Grand with the attendance of its cast, including award-winning Sandra Ng (Echoes of the Rainbow), singer and actress Vivian Chow (Heart to Hearts) in a highly-anticipated return to the silver screen after 13 years, together with co-stars William Chan and Cheung Siu-fai.

With all eyes focused on South Africa as the host of the World Cup, the special presentation of Have You Heard from Johannesburg by director Connie Field premieres at the Festival.

Director Marco Wilms, once a fashion model in East Berlin, will attend the Q&A session of Comrade Couture, his documentary on fashion in the former communist state of East Germany. Also featured under the SIFF section "Hair, Couture & the Devil" is the international premiere of Craig Teper’s Vidal Sassoon the Movie.

Shaw Soo Wei, Executive Director of the HKIFFS said, “We are honoured to celebrate the 5th edition of the Summer International Film Festival with 11 premieres this year.  We remain committed to bring the best films and unique cinematic experiences from all around the world to Hong Kong.”

The 5th SIFF will run from August 11 to September 13, 2010, with 37 films and 71 screenings from 14 countries and regions across five venues. The SIFF will include one world premiere, four Asian and six International premieres. The full programme can be viewed online at http://www.hkiff.org.
