What a strange choice for a film adaption of a comic!

this one is a bit of a stretch - flaming demon skeleton on a flaming motorcycle... but somehow they decided to make a movie out of it, and somehow they got Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes (Ya!) to star in it.

Once you get over the utter ridiculousness of the concept, and the awkwardness of the visuals (the CG is not bad, but again, not very high on the believability scale...) it actually turns out to be pretty entertaining. Nicolas Cage finds the right balance between taking it serious and playing along with the ridiculousness of the whole thing.

I was a fan of the comic back in the day (particularly the newer version they did in the 90s) and i even played the Gameboy game (actually quite well done!), so it was cool to see it in live action format, but its definitely not a typical 'super hero' type movie - its pretty violent and dark (makes Batman seem light in comparison!). Definitely not for the kids. But its is just a bit too weird to make a good film adaption. I'll give it a 6/10 though.
