Driver – Yuey Tan – The McElrea household looked after us on the Coast!

Team boss, Andy McElrea is one homely peaceful fellow when he's not having a drink, or doing his job at the racing circuit. During the Wimobilize McElrea trip earlier this month to Australia, the McElrea family was most hospitable to the Singaporean visitors.

"Andy's mrs, Mel cooked up a storm for the whole Singaporean plan on the Sunday that we were there!" exclaimed Tan. There were multiple dishes, multiple drivers, and all of us from Singapore appreciated it immensely. There were a lot of people to cook for."

During the two weeks in Australia, Tan also stayed with the McElrea family. "To the outside world, I think that perhaps, spectators don't realise the bond that an engineer and a driver have. This is what Andy and I have, and why we work together well," explained Tan. "During a race weekend, it isn't just the driver that needs to work, but the whole team. So the total solution is very very important."

Tan also switched back again to the lighter topic of Mel McElrea's cooking. "I was there over 2 weeks and to eat awesome home cooked meals was a real treat! At home, I have no idea how to cook. And life is so busy in Singapore to spend a few hours a day preparing a good meal. I was most appreciative! Think I put on some weight!"

Singaporean driver, Yuey Tan and team shareholder, Francis Chin, are set to test at Morgan Park with McElrea Racing on September 1.
