Wei traveled to work and study cinematography and photography in Hong Kong. She started out as an assistant cameraperson and then shortly after she moved up to operating and later DP. She works with the leading agencies in Hong Kong, Shanghai Beijing, China, i.e. Saatchi & Saatchi, FCB, Dentsu, Grey Worldwide, among many other agencies and leading production houses. Clients like Hutchinson Telecommunication, Nestle-Nescafe, Rejoice, Epson, Matsushita Electronics, HSBC, to name a few. celebrities like Zhang Ziyi, Eric Tsang, Athena Chu, Gigi Leung and many others. She arrived in New York to pursue her passion of cinematography and still photography. After finishing at Rochester Institute of Technology, she has an opportunity to explored Steadicam Operating with Garrett Brown, Jerry Holway and Peter Abraham. Wei is currently located in New York City, and she works on many award wining independent films as Director of Photography, as well as Steadicam Operator.
One of her recent works included GLAAD psa with Alan Cumming to fight against homophobia and anti-gay slurs towards GLBT community. She is always looking for ways to combine the breath of her culture diversity and experience with the projects she does. Wei is looking to meet and collaborate with many talented, creative Directors, Producers,Production houses in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea and the rest of Asia. She is always interested in TV commercials,features and shorts.
