Such a sad day to learn Tony Scott is gone. I still don't believe he did what he did on that bridge. IT is a world lost of another great film and commercial director in this world. THanks for leaving so many great inspriration works for us! Farewell.R.I.P

Farewell Director Wong Tin Lam

I just read the newspaper today and found out the very talented director Wong Tin Lam passed away. Mr. Wong passed will be missed by many Hong Kong and overseas Chinese filmakers. I watched many of his works in the early 80s, all the classic TVB soap operas! Love his performance on Johnnie To's  "Election"

Film festivals!!!

Hi guys, how are you all doing? I know, is me again, I'm still "alive not dead" !  Hope everyone has a good summer so far, as for me, I just finished working on a Japanese TV commercial. and if any of you are in California, San Diego in particular. Please stop by at the San Diego film festivals, coincidentally, there are two short films I DP are selected for the festival! Unbelievable! One is "Toxic Orange", the other is "Parallel Play"

Also, the 35mm short film "Abandon Me" won the best drama in Atlanta film festival last month, and going to FD4W London end of the month as well as at IFP Minnesota on Sept 15, it is also officially selected by the Cincinati film festival! Bunch of good news! Stay tuned!

unfortunately I won't be at any of the festivals....   need to work! so please stop by and mingle with your fellow filmakers if you guys are happen to be at one of those places. :)

Good Documentary!!!! Check it out!

Hi AnD guys,

I recently came across a show here in NYC on Independent lens... and they were airing this documentary about new wave cinematographers Laszlo Kovacs and Vilmos Zsigmond. How they escaped the Russian invasion back in the 60s...and became two of the most important new wave DPs that change the American cinema.... I know about their stories, but this new documentary really moves me.... the most interesting interview I  ever seen, especially Sharon Stone, Dennis Hopper, Jon Voight, they discuss each cinematographer's craft, the way they use the lights, colour, camera movements... that's what impressed me, I'm like wow! they know what they are talking about...not just some glamour hollywood actors...they really know they craft of film and cinema....I think anyone who is interested in working in the field of motion picture anywhere in the world should watch this....  I hope people on go and buy this DVD and I promised you will learn a lot and never be the same again!

P.S, Neither PBS or Independent Lens or their affliates paid me to said this... :)
