a little story

I heard of a little story, want to hear it? It is nothing spiritual, though i must warn you, you will get the chills. i got the story from a japanese talk show host, matsumotosan.

It didnt happen that long a time ago. A man was coming home from work one evening, tired. He was entering the elevator to his apartment building, when he saw a guy with a hat was standing in there, hiding his face. The man felt the creeps, though he had no choice but to walk in. He said 'good evening' to the guy and was ignored. After a brief moment of uncomfortable silence, the elevator door opened, the creepy guy was on his way out, only he bumped into the man on the shoulder; the man said 'sorry' to the guy and was ignored again. The creepy guy was simply hiding his face the whole time. 'Damn those creeps,' thought the man when he got back to his apartment, mean while he noticed there was blood on his shoulder, where the creepy guy had bumped into. He wondered what happened, but was overwhelmed by drowsiness, without much thought, he fell asleep. Later that evening, the man was awaken by the door bell. Thinking the blood and the creepy guy, he looked in the peep hole to check for who ever is out there. A policeman was standing there. The man opened the door, chained with precaution. The police said to the man,' sorry to bother you sir, i m afraid there was a murder tonight in this apartment building. Have you witnessed any suspicious people around this evening?' The man knew if he said he had, it would have resulted in him getting involved with the investigation, besides, he was still feeling drowsy, within a split second of hesitation, he just brushed it off and said no. The policeman glared at him a little while, then apologised for the inconvenience and left. The next day, the man got home from work late as usual. He turned on the television, the news talked about a murder in his building. He realised this is for real. The criminal was apprehended, a mugshot appeared on the screen- it was the policeman.
