the LEO awards. My shameless plug for the projects I'm so proud of.

My horses placed. Not my own horses specifically but the projects that I worked on. I had the very good fortune of working with some of the best in 2005. Two projects specifically- a mini series titled ‘Dragon Boys’ and a feature film titled ‘ Everything’s Gone Green’. They were both recognized at this year's LEO awards which are kinda like the Canadian Emmy's (blatantly stealing Byron Mann's descrīption of it . hee hee)

Dragon Boys – airing soon – I think October on Star TV Asia- was shot for CBC TV over here in Canada and aired in January 2007- It stars Byron Mann, Eric Tsang, Tzi Ma, myself, and many more in a gritty dramatic 4 hour tale set in the underbelly of asian organized crime in North America. It was nominated for 12 awards including best performance by a male lead for Byron, best screenwriting, best cinematography, best make up. Congratulations to all those nominated. You’re winners already.

‘Everything Gone Green’ was shot in the summer of 2005 and is written by the voice of our generation Douglas Coupland- my first and still my first reason for signing on. I later came to love the director and cast and crew as much as the material and it became a passion project. So when it was nominated 6 times it was case of the cup overfloweth yet again.

Ian Weir won for Best Screenwriting for 'Dragon Boys',
Doug Coupland for Best Screenwriting for 'Everything Gone Green'.

I've heard of these movies ~ I'm gonna have to find a chance to see them someday. Congrats on the movies you worked in receiving awards! I really like your dress...pretty ^^

another Coupland fan! good to meet you. I'm just about to start shooting a Coupland series 'Jpod' based on his latest book. Back I go into the weird Coupland spiral. Should be fun- at the very least a confrontation of my own neurosis :)

I'm glad to hear someone so passionate and happy about the outcome of their artistic work. It's not a shameless plug if you like so much that you want to let all of your friends and fans know all about it.

In any case, I'm really looking forward to seeing both -- the cast in Dragon Boys sounds great and I'm also a Douglas Coupland fan. Both sound like great projects... so, what's next?

Voted “Sexiest Woman in the World 2006” by Asian FHM magazine readers, Steph Song is, ironically, a staunch disciple of hard work, not hard bodies.

After attaining a double degree in Journalism and Nursing, she embarked on a meteoric ascent in a career in front of the camera.

Moving to Singapore in August 2002, she became the leading actress of English TV drama projects such as “First Touch”, “Concerto for a Bus Driver”, “Heartlanders”, “Love Poetry”, “Six Weeks”, and “Singapore Short Stories” - winner of Best Drama at the 2004 ATV Awards.

In 2003, Steph set a new standard with her role in the sitcom “Achar!”. The series was the breakout comedy of the year and went on to win second prize at the New York International Television Festival 2005 behind NBC’s “Frasier”. The series has since been broadcast in 10 countries, including Australia and the US.

In 2005, Steph returned to Canada in her breakthrough lead role opposite Paulo Costanzo (NBC’s “Joey”) in “Everything’s Gone Green”. “EGG” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2006 and is the winner of Best Canadian Film at the Vancouver and Edmonton Film Festivals. It was also in Official Selection at the Pusan and South by Southwest International Film Festivals. It premieres in the USA in April 2007.

She appears alongside Jet Li and Jason Statham in the action film, “War”, set for worldwide release in September 2007.

She has the female lead role opposite legendary HK actor Eric Tsang in CBC’s gritty “Dragon Boys”. Steph learnt Cambodian from scratch for the role and now adds it to her list of English, Hokkien and Spanish.

Steph is a new breed of Asian actress. Eastern looks and soul, combined with the feistiness and dedication to the craft born in the West. Once quoted as saying she’d “eat a homeless dwarf’s toenails to work with David Lynch”, she is not without humility or humour.
