Etty and I are back in Hong Kong with the family; finally. Last night I gave the
boys haircuts (They've requested them from me their whole life. I give my little
men thousand dollar haircuts. Of course it's on the house. I have distinct
reasoning for cutting it myself. I give them the cut that I have. I give them
the Beverly Hills treatment while they sit for me.. I learned from the best in
Hollywood. When I get my hair done- it comes with drinks and gossip magazines.
My salon has apple juice and a book about a family of penguins. This latest book
we got is about two male penguins who fall in love at the Central Park Zoo and
raise a baby penguin together. Racy little tale for kids I'd say!? It was a
gift. Anyway for as long as they would sit for me; their dews came out great. I
try and cut their hair like mine so people at least perceive that they are my
children. In Hong Kong I am a curious minority with a hot blond Asian wife and
beautiful half cast boys who look exactly like their mother. Their hair is the
only thing that looks remotely like me. Not even the texture; just the cut....
well so what; we're all styling now- here in Hong Kong!

We are now back home safe and warm- but already I am having
dreams of running back out into the absurdity, confusion and complexity that
draws me back out on the road. It's my first night- dreaming at home- I've
already heard the "Call of the wild!" The call of gambling men, and heated
woman, and feasting like wild beasts; the call of the wild makes me horny and
hungry! Out there- we didn't always win. We've even been desperate; but that
made us threatening; with nothing to loose. We can only win now. Living by
chance- for ultimate pleasure- like a blood scent that floats through the
forest- drawing my will and desires- to the "Call of the wild."

That skateboard in the picture is an electric board. The
thing in my hand is actually a remote speed control, and brake. The promoter
brought it out for me to try, and I went for a spin around the block several
times -out into the street and almost got hit by traffic but I steered just
clear. It is super fast and much heavier than you'd expect. It went 20 miles an
hour at top speed, but turned like a mule.
We played a fun little club in
Scottsdale, Arizona. The dessert hills were just behind the shops and
restaurants- turning redder as the sun went down. Everything (birds and snakes)
and everybody (Girls and guys; and snakes) wait for the sun to go down. We
walked up the street to get a bite to eat, and were offered a ride 3 times.
There is also a free trolley rolling by every 10 minutes. It's dangerous to walk
outside in the dead afternoon. I started to understand what heat stroke was as
we waited for the light to change at the intersection.
Etty wanted to get a
bite after the show and decided to walk it alone. I wouldn't let her go without
a chaperone. Something about the dessert (No one can hear you scream?) that
makes me nervous having her wander off alone, and my senses were correct. When
she returned back with wings; she told me that where ever she walked- guys
slowed down and offered her a ride (even with sweet Frankie, our super guitar
tech.) Next tour- I'm buying his and hers electro skate-mobiles!

Hello My lovers,
We are now on our final string of shows
for the fall tour of America. I want to thank you all- right here and now; for
partying with us over these last 10 weeks. I have a sense of release and
relaxation already. Thinking about returning home and catching up with my
family.
Even though we have 4 more shows to go. I want to express to you how
much I enjoyed meeting you all and entertaining you. It was a return to the
early days for me. Small stages and wild audiences. Everyone left spent and
courageous. These days have given me the feeling that I had when I first headed
out to California. America is a much different place today; still the music
carries us all along. I am proud to provide- in part, the soundtrack to your
days and nights. I see every town as a collective soul waiting to break out,
with the wings of music. But I will also remember this time with a sense of
discovery. In November I am going to write more songs with the Satellite Party,
and- completely reorganize our business structure. It will be an exciting time
because I am going to build a unique music model; one that is musically
adventurous, and economically flexible. To allow creativity to guide. I will be
filming the process as well- so please come and visit me here to see our
progress, and hear some new tracks!. I will also have a blog running on the new
beta "Yahoo Music" page that is due out in a few weeks. To all my dear ones I
say, "Today- we all have to be brave!" I'll join you in the future.
Your
man,
Perry

LA for a day.
I used to be in LA every single day.
I
knew her streets; her back streets. I would do bad things and knew how to get
away. Cops tried to follow me but they couldn't- cause I knew the way to shake
them loose. When I come back I look at the development- or lack of...It's not
getting prettier just more eroded. In need of a boost. Hollywood Blvd. is a
street of runaways that carry canes. There's spit and shit on the Hollywood
stars as they lay there all day.
Downtown is the place where things have
mostly changed. I am glad because I used to go down town allot and be with the
artists and hipsters. We had parties; but you probably missed it. We made noise
and no one complained. Yesterday we made loud music on the streets of Downtown
LA. The Detour Festival- and it was surreal surreal surreal. Nobody tried to
stop us, and that was beautiful- to kick and cuss in the open air staring down a
one way filled with people- sitting under the tree at City Hall. Nobody scared
of getting in trouble. Just singing and dancing on Temple Street. All that
happened only yesterday, when I was in LA again- just for one day.
