Schema Magazine – Interview

I had a wonderful interview with Beth Hong for Schema Magazine‘s PEOPLE TO WATCH column. We had an introduction from Jennifer Thym (LUMINA, Jasmine, Bloodtraffik, Mister French Taste) and I spoke a little bit about the recent projects that I’ve been involved with, primarily MILLIONS and Mister French Taste.

Interview: Sarah Lian & On Asian Canadians making Millions

Its my first interview being back in Canada and I’m glad that my Vancouver roots are also highlighted. Schema Magazine features content that talk about cultural navigation, and ethnic associations. When Beth was asking me questions about which culture I connected to the most, I remember taking a quick pause and feeling a little overwhelmed. Where do I begin? So many parts of me are comprised of the opinionated, friendly, apologetic Canadian. Yet after assimilating to Malaysian culture for the past few years, my bargaining, eating and socializing puts me on the other side of the spectrum. Ha, its a game of which one should I pick?

Cultures aside, I’m glad that Schema Magazine’s readers can get the exclusive on this new show Millions. Everyone’s extremely excited about it and hope that the support will also encourage networks to pick this pilot up! My other cast members are incredibly talented and I can’t wait for the rest of Canada to hear about them!

Last but not least, gotta have a shoutout for Mister French Taste! The trailer still cracks me up and they recently had a screening for all 10 episodes in Hong Kong. Really wished I could’ve been there but glad that things are coming along… can’t wait for Season 2!
