AFC Foodie Face Off 2013

I had an opportunity to work with AFC – Asian Food Channel – last month.

We had a mini-version of Masterchef in Kuala Lumpur.

For the first time ever, AFC hosted their Foodie Face-Off 2013 to showcase the best talent in the region. 20 contestants were chosen from the hundreds of submissions from their Facebook page.

These contestants were put to the test with 2 challenges:

*Cook a dish inspired by Raya Celebration

*Cook a dish using Secret Ingredient: Kellogg’s Cornflakes.

Judged by a myriad of components, only one would come out the true winner of the Foodie Face Off!

It was a long but extremely exciting and tummy-filling day with the Celebrity Chefs, Sherson Lian and Anis Nabilah.

These two chefs were hilarious and we kept talking about everything from religion to food, relationships to life. Plus their chemistry on-screen is a perfect recipe for a show! Hilarious I tell you! Sherson and I were talking about how we often get asked if we were related and were only recently introduced. So now I can tell people he’s a brother from another mother!

So we kicked off the Foodie Face-Off with a bang and loads of commentary for our own enjoyment.

We were able to test out and nibble on all of the entries.

Here’s our version of the human drum-roll to announce the winners.

Ta-da! Congrats Connie Chew on making such delicious food that all of enjoyed so much! Well deserved win on all levels!
