Video Plugs: Panic Shower, Kid Heroes, and Netflix

So these days, everyone’s creating their own content and putting it online. Many people put their stuff out there and build followings. Others enter contests and such. Sometimes we’re lucky and we get featured on YouTube ;] Online video is and has been the future. Heck, you may quite possibly see a shift with peachies.net towards that direction…

For now, here are some videos to check out:

“Jill and Gary” from Panic Shower Productions. My buddy Seth Kim is in this one. If you like comedy, Panic Shower may be a good place for you to get a dose of it. Looks like they’re always coming out with content.

Patricio Ginelsa, A.J. Calomay, and the crew have entered the Skinit Spotlight Challenge on YouTube. They are one of 20 finalists! I thought theirs was pretty dang funny. If you like it, rate it, comment, and comment on Skinit’s channel to let ‘em know you dig “BODY PAINT” by kidheroes!

My, oh my… two awesome producers I know (Mynette Louie and Melissa Lee) have their films in the Netflix “Find Your Voice” Film Competition: Eric Lin’s WHY WE PULL THE TRIGGER and Maryam Keshavarz’s CIRCUMSTANCE. Grace Su also known as "Peachies" has primarily been making a living as a film/tv/commercial editor since she graduated from college. In late 2008, she left her 9-to-5 job to pursue the indie film road as a producer and actress. She is also known to be a blogger and Facebook addict.

As a filmmaker, she is best known for her short documentary, FUTURE ROCK STARS OF AMERICA, a piece about a community surrounding Asian American musicians in Los Angeles. She has also been known for her involvement with online grassroots marketing of films (beginning with BETTER LUCK TOMORROW) and music (through Xanga, Myspace, and her own site).

Some notable film credits include: WEST 32ND, MY FIRST CRUSH, and WEDDING PALACE. She also curates the music video program for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

FAQ: Why "Peachies"?

"Peachies" was a nickname given to Grace in her freshman year of high school because she would always carry a bag of Trolli gummy peach rings with her (back then, the candy was called "Peachies"... they are now "Peachie-O's" or something like that). The nickname stuck and Grace started using it as her username for various online sites (AsianAvenue, Findapix, Xanga, Myspace, etc.)

Today, most of her friends in the "industry" know her as "Peachies" as well.

And coincidentally, Grace's Chinese name is Pei-Chi!
