Nexus Launches ciNE65 – A Short Film Competition On What You Love About Singapore

Nexus Launches ciNE65 A Short Film Competition On What You Love About Singapore

“If you could immortalize what you loved best about Singapore, how would you do it?”

Nexus officially launched ciNE65 with an exclusive media event on Tuesday, a short film competition for the Singapore community to express and embrace what they love about Singapore. ciNE65 seeks to establish itself as a platform for the Singapore community to express and embrace what they love about Singapore, by exploring the potential of short films to touch the hearts and minds of Singaporeans and those who make Singapore their home.

ciNE65 encompasses everything Singaporeans so our media friends were given a goodie bag each containing all things local.

The campaign is aimed at encouraging budding film-makers to develop their potential in film-making and offers various technical awards to recognize participants for their film-making skills, such as Best Direction or Best Editing. The competition provides an opportunity for aspiring film-makers to showcase their works not just locally but also abroad, as selected winning films will be submitted for overseas film festivals and competitions.

We believe everyone has a story to tell and we would like them to share it with the rest of Singapore on what is uniquely Singaporean to them. It could be about reminiscing the past, reflecting on the present or looking into the future. There is definitely something in these stories that all of us can identify with,” said Colonel (COL) Kelvin Koh, Director, Nexus.

The judging panel for the film competition includes industry luminaries such as Irene Ang and Daniel Yun. Sony Electronics Singapore and Golden Village are key partners for the campaign as well.

More information on the workshops and field trips can found on the official ciNE65 website.

Everyone, whether a Singaporean or foreigner, are welcome to participate.
