Man I am f'in lucky. I'm listening to an awesome album, "Has Been" by William Shatner. I am working on some concept art for an upcoming soccer game. Doing the fun part now, just blazing through ideas and layouts. Supernatural soccer poses and badass looking guys kicking soccer balls with flames and all that.
By the end of today I need an awesome final sketch. The last guy doing my job did a crap ass version of a similar thing so I'm going to try to blow that one away.
But I get to draw all day, sometimes it's work. There is always the pressure of a deadline but I'm totally up for it. Learning a lot as I go.
When I was 5 years old, my cousin would draw stuff out of the dungeons and dragons monster manual. He ended up poorly but gave me an inspiration back then. I looked up to him and always wanted to draw. My cousin is a painter, my great uncle a pen and ink artist with a style like mine and my grandmother a painter. I don't know if that's a high percentage of artists in an immediate family but it certainly is easy to feel I am meant to do this.
Previous jobs I have done; Construction..hobby store clerk..personal trainer...office assistant...pee wee baseball coach...realtor (still doing that one)...EMT (short lived..too bloody)...video game tester and translation producer.
The bad news is that I separated my shoulder two weeks ago. It is getting better bit by bit but I can't punch with my right side (sanda). I'm still in shape but I am not gonna be dive rolling anytime soon!
over and out
