  Hi Kit, yup I'm still in NYC and am enjoying being back here.... I met up with Eric, Dan and Gordon for dinner in Brooklyn last weekend, so it was great seeing them and catching up! I'm hoping to meet up with Renee when I'm in LA in a few weeks... so it'll be like mini-"Fog" reunions all over the world. haha When do I get to see you? :)

  After hearing you, Glen, and Jason play the ukulele, I'm really thinking about trying my hand at it.  I'm just worried that I'll become addicted to it or something and quit writing altogether.  How much time per day do you have to devote to it, would you say?

  Kit, you turned me on to avaaz before so I get e-mails regularly, too regularly.  I'm not one to bury my head in the sand but sometimes Kit it's just overwhelmingly depressing.  Why isn't there some kind of minimum standard decency test for human beings?  If you don't pass you have to go to .... I guess that's why.  Nowhere to send them.  In the meantime that old "man's inhumanity to man" theme is still going strong.

  Oh, by the way, I was pretty devastated when in my recent trip back to Montreal, the guy at the indie record shop told me Godspeed was on hiatus, possibly forever. But then he mentioned Thee Silver Mount Zion Orchestra & Tralala Band, don't know if you heard about it. It has a bunch of Godspeed members, it's like a more commercial version of it with lyrics but it's pretty good. They did an album with Vic Chesnutt too which I quite like.

  Yeah, Godspeed rocks! It's one of the top concerts I've ever seen too!
  
  Actually, the reason I ended up in post was that in college I had to chose either production or postproduction and they wouldn't allow us to edit our own stuff. Being a control freak, and liking both things, and being in the top three editors in my class, it was too painful to think of shooting something and standing at the back in the offline room. So I went post.
  
  I don't get to edit much these days, or only with people I know and can tell right up their face to go fudge themselves if they get carried away.
  
  But flame/inferno has similar games going on, I do have a 'black list' of people I don't want to ever work with for no amount of money.
