Chacun son cinéma

2 commentsCannes Film Festival celebrated its 60th birthday last year and asked 33 world class directors (from 25 countries) to each make a 3-minute short to celebrate "Cinema," including Hou Hsiao Hsien, Dardenne Brothers, Takeshi Kitano, Claude Lelouch, Alejandro Iñárritu, Walter Salles, Coel Brothers, Wong Kar Wai... Unfortunately I can only find a few on youtube, but I do see a couple of my favorites on there - simple, beautiful and inspirational, greatly executed by the master directors. So here they are:

This one, directed by Salles, is really amazingly performed. The Brazilians are so musical and funny! Sorry they only have French subtitles...
