Lost in connection, looking for...

I was reading some missing persons notice haphazardly and it just suddenly prompted me to a question, do you have any long lost friends you really want to get back in touch?

I mean, even though we always try very hard to keep in touch with those we care, there are always some "lost in connection", some who just disappear without a trace... so if you are given a free  opportunity to search for these missing persons, who would be on your mind?

I guess I have quite some candidates on my mind, the one on my priority list is probably my kindergarten teacher Ms. Wong. Elegant and kind, she is definitely one of the best teachers i have ever got. A teacher and also a friend, we were quite close at that time, and even after i graduated from kindergarten, she continued to become my private tutor in my early primary school days, until she emigrated to another countries (i dun remember exactly but that's what i kinda heard of...). Not sure how she is doing now (probably in her late 40s or early 50s now), it'd be great if i can meet her again!

Another person I would definitely love to meet again is my primary school friend Alan Chan. Since my school has a very strong alumni network, it is never a problem for me to reach most of my old  classmates, but somehow after Alan stopped going to school one day without saying goodbye, he just seemed to totally disappear from my life. There are rumors that he went to taiwan to further his studies (his mom is taiwanese), but i was never able to confirm it. i actually tried to search for him on the web, but "Alan Chan" just seems to be a too common name, and his chinese name "陳偉傑" is also like one of the most typical names you can find in the white page, so throughout the years, my friends and i are still unable to trace him at all.. oh and i also have a friend called "tony leung", which i had a hard time locating online as well, just type "tony leung" on google and you'll know why it is difficult.. :)

any thoughts, anyone?

interesting. i think the human condition reveals that nostalgia is a way to find Identity. we can lose touch and never want to see them again for they are memories we don't mind forgetting. yet i have past lovers who i would seek out.... not necessarily because i need to know how THEY are doing (i believe that truly getting to know somebody is near impossible), but i enjoy the reflection i see. that something of Mine that They still have. --- anyhow. thanks for the thoughts. this is very parallel to my adventures coming up to visit HK for a week to see my dad. in my book, i'd rather stay here.
