The vice-presidential debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden is today.

And though Palin has been doing terribly in interviews with the press, I'm not sure she's gonna bomb as badly tonight.  She's been in 'debate camp' the last few days so you can be sure she's got all her answers memorized.  They might as well give her a teleprompter or an earwig.

On top of that, the format is perfect for memorized sound-bites.  90 second responses to the questions and 2 minute discussions.  Sounds like a feeble debate to me.

Anyway, I'm going to be watching with interest.  I wonder if Biden is going to make one of his trademark gaffes?

Do you guys remember Vice-President Dan Quayle?  Dan Quayle was, almost, derided as much as Palin is now.  He, infamously, corrected a student's spelling of 'potato' by asking him to put an 'e' at the end.

And here is a clip from the 1988 VP debate when he compared himself to Jack Kennedy.

Sarah Palin, you're no Hillary Clinton!

Jason, I might do a blog about Sarah Palin myself later. I don't hate her, but she's just not qualified for the job. It seems that McCain thought she'd help the ticket--I think she'll hurt it. It has to be about issues and experience, people, not "Oh, wow, she's a mom like me!"

I was voting for Obama anyway.

Good comments by everyone.  Just wanted to remind you that Dan Quayle was on the winning ticket.
I just want everyone to vote.  If you haven't registered go do it right now.  It is getting close.
So vote people.  Play your part in the process.

Biden was really good. Palin wasn't has bad as on CBS but she was always talking about her and then McCain. Biden was  talking more about Obama and McCain. I enjoyed the non-maverick argument of Biden.

I saw someone making Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin comparisons. But this video really says it all. I mean, I remember the misspellings and all that but - WOW - how does this happen and why??? One of McCain's justifications for Palin was winning back the religious right, as an alienated maverick. As for Palin, some are saying she's gotten worse through having her voice squashed. I doubt that, but we'll know for sure tonight!!!
