i've always found solace in music

but i haven't quite mastered the art

of vocalizing the pain you scream inside

and then setting it adrift

to float away

and dissipate

i've come to find that i somehow manage to

immortalize

the hurt

and carry it in my hands like a secret truth

a story that's whispered over and over again in my ear

until i'm drowning

amidst perfectly normal, functioning people

in a perfectly normal, functioning world

i don't want to be a sad story anymore

i am hurting but i'm not a long chain of tragedies

i'm a collection of bittersweet moments that led me towards the open water

towards something great

it's all a choice

and it's worth embracing
